Team Size: 50+ Cable/Fiber Technicians
Contract Length: 6 months, with likely extensions
Hourly Rate: $22.00-$32.00 (based on experience and fit)
Overtime (1.5): Included
PPE: Included
Shift & Schedule:
24/7 coverage required (must be available for rotating shifts)
Typical schedule: 12-hour shifts, 6 days/week
Average: 60-80 hours/week depending on project needs
Responsibilities:
Install, splice, test, and maintain fiber optic cables for high-speed data transmission
Perform fusion splicing and fiber testing
Collaborate with a large team to meet project deadlines
Follow all safety protocols
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Background and understanding of Fiber Optics
Willing to complete 1-2 weeks of onsite training in Fiber Splicing
Must pass background check and drug test
Reliable transportation to/from the data center site
Ability to travel to other customer sites on a per diem basis (preferred, not required)

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Assist in the performance of acceptance and installation tests on protection, control, and measurement devices and associated equipment in stations.
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and operation of all power line carriers, station SCADA, and associated communications equipment or cables as assigned.
Perform switching under direct supervision of qualified personnel following direction of the proper operating authority.
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and operation of any new and added equipment or systems as assigned.
Maintain test equipment and automotive equipment in good working order so that work can be performed safely and efficiently anywhere throughout the System.
Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports and drawings as required.
Assist employees of equal or higher classification.
Perform all duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules and operating regulations, NERC and environmental compliance, and practices.

In between time at designated accounts, this position will be responsible for the development of training resources for general water and wastewater industry knowledge, as well as site specific treatment training for all technicians in their region. This position requires significant travel, sometimes for extended periods of time - This can range from 1-2 weeks away from home at a time, all the way up to a month for extenuating circumstances.
Essential Operational Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintain complete operational coverage of the Veolia operated facilities in your designated region as vacations and unplanned absences arise. Coverage will be required on both day shifts and night shifts as absences arise, requiring significant schedule flexibility.
* Assist in the operational development of all local technicians within your designated region. This includes in-person hands on training visits to multiple sites, assisting in the development of electronic training materials & resources, and directing training efforts of individual technicians. We are seeking a skilled Data Center Fiber Splicer with fusion splicing and OTDR testing expertise to support a major data center construction project. This is a long-term contract position with a 12-hour shift, 6 days per week, and a 32-hour overtime (OT) provision.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform fusion splicing and OTDR testing to ensure low loss and high-quality fiber connections for data center build-out.
• Install, label, route, and terminate fiber optic cables in underground environments and/or above-ground OSP facilities as required.
• Prepare, clean, and inspect fiber components, connectors, and splicing sleeves; maintain meticulous splice schedules and documentation.
• Coordinate with project team, engineers, electricians, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of fiber infrastructure milestones.
• Safety-minded: proactive hazard identification and mitigation.
Qualifications:
• Technical proficiency: fusion splicing, OTDR testing, fiber inspection, and clean handling of fiber components.
• Underground/OSP fiber experience strongly preferred; familiarity with trenching, conduits, pull schedules, and installation in various environments.

Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
