Trout Unlimited is leading a multi-year, extensive barrier assessment project in North-Central Idaho and is looking for energetic, hardworking, and motivated individuals to join our team in 2026. These positions will be focused on assessing road-stream crossings in the Clearwater Basin in Idaho to identify anadromous fish passage barriers for ESA-listed steelhead and sensitive species like spring and summer Chinook Salmon.
We are looking to fill 2 temporary positions, one technician and one lead technician, with anticipated May 18th and August 21st start and end dates. The successful candidates will receive training and experience in assessing road-stream barriers, following standardized protocols, and using survey equipment. These are excellent positions for individuals who want to gain experience in ecological restoration.
The seasonal technicians are expected to work 40-hour weeks (with car camping) and require the ability to traverse difficult terrain while carrying field gear and supplies in all weather conditions. Successful applicants must be team-oriented and have a positive attitude. These positions will be based in Lewiston, Idaho, with travel and camping at multiple sites within approximately a 3-hour drive from Lewiston. A work truck will be provided for use in the field. The technicians are expected to provide their own camping equipment. The primary duties are listed below.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Collect and organize accurate data using survey tools like range finders, measuring devices, tablets, etc.
* Transport gear daily over sometimes difficult terrain

The work is performed under the supervision and direction of an assigned supervisor, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The principal duties of this class are performed in an outdoors environment with possible exposure to a variety of terrains, weather conditions, hazardous waste, and airborne pathogens.Essential Functions:
Observes safe work methods and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required. Follows Federal (OSHA), State regulations, and City policies regarding safe work practices;
Operates and maintains City equipment and trucks appropriate to the functional area of assignment, including backhoes, front-end loaders, dump trucks, street sweepers, pickups, snow plows, graders, skid steers, brush chippers, utility lift truck, and other related equipment; Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools and equipment related to work assignment as instructed;
Maintains and repairs City streets and roadways, including preparation of road surfaces for patching or overlay, paving, and repairing pot holes, slide spots, and sink holes as necessary; Digs, shovels, hauls, and unloads soils, backfill, and other materials;
Constructs, maintains, and repairs City streets and alley right-of-ways as necessary including trimming, collecting and hauling brush, compost, or recyclables; Clean, install, and repair storm drains, manholes, lines, and intakes which includes flushing out silt and garbage from storm manholes, digging up damaged storm lines and replacing pipe as necessary;
Maintains City streets in the winter months to ensure safe and efficient traveling conditions for both pedestrians and vehicles including plowing, deicing, and sanding streets. Operates heavy equipment and/or vehicles to remove snow from sidewalks on public property and other snow removal efforts; Assists with street closures for Street Maintenance work and/or parades/public assemblies;
Provides year-round creek maintenance to ensure the maintenance of safe water levels. This also entails keeping creek free of debris in the winter months as necessary; Participate as required for response to emergency situations such as winter storm events, flooding, road obstructions, and pavement damage;
Maintains all departmental equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation, including securing equipment at the close of the work day; Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly condition; Enters data into the City's computerized maintenance management systems;
Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems; Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions and reviews publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas;
Responds to citizen's questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner. Provides outstanding customer service to City of Lewiston residents, employees, and customers; Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate parties to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities;
Respond to, and assist with, construction and maintenance with other City departments as assigned.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Occasionally assist with the installation and maintenance of regulatory and non-regulatory signs, crosswalks, turn lanes, lane markings, and curb markings; Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies, procedures, and safety practices; On-call after regular hours to respond to emergency situations as needed; Perform other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of entry level street construction or maintenance experience; or any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake and tanker endorsements preferred, valid Class A (CDL) with air brake and tanker endorsements (obtain within 12 months of hire); State of Idaho approved flagger card within 6 months of hiring date, Traffic Control Technician Certification within 18 months of hiring date.

Basic principles and practices of construction, maintenance, and repair activities in the Streets Division;
Safe and proper use of basic hand tools, power tools, and other related construction equipment;
Basic safety principles and practices of maintenance and repair activities;

Techniques, methods, and materials related to the construction and maintenance work in the area of assignment; and
Maintenance and operation of related light and medium duty equipment used in functional area of assignment.

Working Conditions:
Incumbents work on City of Lewiston roadways, without protection from the weather, and are subject to traffic, dust, noise, and subject to 24-hour emergency response when required. Work on rough, uneven, rocky and/or slippery surfaces; and
Exposure to hot asphalt, dirt, working around machinery having moving parts, working around moving equipment and high speed vehicular traffic, fumes from vehicle and equipment operation, oil, paints, solvents, gases and other potentially hazardous materials, limited exposure to working heights up to 50-feet, as well as, potential electrical power supplies and high voltage.

Job Summary

As a Technician II, with your knowledge you will help perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair wind turbines. You will be able to successfully interpret fault reports, maintain power generation reports, service logs in the computer databases, and monitor turbine performance. What You'll Need:
High School Diploma or GED. Associate's degree is a bonus, but not required.
1+ years' experience as a Wind Turbine Technician
Valid driver's license (NON CDL or CDL) with a clean driving record. *
Ability to read and interpret documents, and follow instructions, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, given proper instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving at least one concrete variable in standardized situations.
Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug/alcohol screening.
The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus because of potential work in close confines.
Employees must be physically fit enough to free climb 300 ft multiple times a day while wearing 25+ lbs. of climbing gear and work in extreme weather conditions.
Must be capable of rescuing teammates anywhere in the tower in the event of an emergency.

Job Summary:
Technicians support all aspects of telecommunication installations including the construction and maintenance of telecommunication structures, cables and data centers ensuring that work is performed in the safest manner possible with delivering a high-quality product to our customers.

Experience and Education:
