Job Summary: Assumes overall operational management and responsibility for an operational shift. Supervises and directs personnel in the conduct of required work activities. Operates the units safely, efficiently and in a cost-effective manner and complies with all federal and state regulations. Takes direct action to correct abnormal situations and in the event of an emergency, maintains conditions to preserve plant integrity and provide for personnel safety. Minimum Requirements: Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or a related discipline COMBINED with 4 years of operations experience at a utility level power plant. In lieu of degree, must have a High School Diploma COMBINED with 8 years of operations experience at utility level power plant. Must possess a valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading/supervising power plant employees, including bargaining unit employees Comprehensive knowledge of power plant systems and operations City of Houston First Grade Stationary Engineers License - or commit to achieve this license within 12 months of transition to the role.
