What You Will Do: Promote a safety culture that drives zero incidents. Host daily safety meetings with team. Lead, organize, and manage field operations for 2-3 person crew for site development, earthwork, environmental and erosion control services for power installation, access and repairs. Assist with general labor and equipment operation tasks Effectively manage field crew and equipment operation and accurately complete paperwork daily. Ensure proper installation and maintenance of temporary erosion and sediment control devices (seeding, straw blowing, matting, filter sock & silt fence). Review construction plans to determine design, specifications and sequence of activities. Assist project management in ensuring that all work meets specifications. Maintain accurate reporting of materials used and time reporting of crew members. Maintains safe, clean jobsite, vehicles and orderly work Completes slope, rough and fine grading activities as necessary and place aggregate Work with other Foremen and field crews to accomplish daily production goals. Top Candidates Will Have: Ability to travel out of town for a week or longer at a time. High school diploma or equivalent required. A valid driver's license and clean driving record. Experience with environmental oversight and DHEC/DNR (not required but preferred). Ability to oversee entire construction project from start to finish. Operational experience with heavy equipment to communicate equipment limits and designed purposes. Personal accountable for equipment safety, maintenance and operation. Detail oriented and able to manage safety, logistics and multiple tasks in a face-paced environment. Team-oriented mentality. Effective and professional communication skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Must have reliable transportation to and from the main office. Physical Requirements: Must be able to: Work outside for prolonged periods through all weather conditions and terrains. Work for long periods, including weekends, when necessary. Safely walk long distances on foot on all types of terrain. Use a variety of hand tools (shovels, picks, staples, post hole digger and tamp) requiring upper body forces of 40 lbs. Bend, squat, and perform frequent cross body movements such as climbing, twisting, balancing, stooping, etc. Lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. Meehan is an equal opportunity employer.
