The Academic Intervention Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive intervention and tutoring support to students enrolled in designated gateway Math core classes. Working closely with and under the guidance of the course instructor(s), the specialist serves as an embedded intervention specialist, offering coaching, interventions, and tutoring services in various settings including, one-on-one, small groups, in-class, online and in labs and other activities. The Academic Intervention Specialist collaborates with the Academic Success and Retention Team in the development and continuous improvement of embedded tutoring training, strategies, and assurance of effective and relevant support mechanisms. The Academic Intervention Specialist also provides administrative assistance and encouragement to other embedded tutors, fostering a collaborative and supportive tutoring environment.
