What a Typical Day Looks Like
Your days will be full of learning, laughter, movement, and milestone moments. Youll help create a classroom where two-year-old children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore.
Daily activities include:
Greeting families and helping children transition smoothly into the classroom
Leading circle time with songs, stories, movement, and early learning activities
Supporting emerging independence with toileting, handwashing, and self-help skills
Offering developmentally appropriate centers like blocks, dramatic play, sensory play, fine motor, and early math
Guiding children through social-emotional moments with patience and positive language
Planning and supervising outdoor play and gross motor activities
Supporting classroom routines including meals, snacks, transitions, and rest time
Sanitizing toys and surfaces while maintaining a safe, organized classroom
Building connections through conversation, play, modeling, and encouragement
Two-year-old children need consistency, warmth, and gentle boundaries and youll help provide all three

Teaching Seminary

2. Participate in a brief (3-4 days) teaching practicum local seminary.
3. Student Teach. Student teachers are selected from successful practicum participants. There are more practicum participants than there are student teacher openings in any given term.
Student teachers are hired to teach one or two seminary classes in a local seminary. Student teachers are paid for teaching time, and for preparation and administrative time. The typical student teacher assignment is a 15-20 hour per week position.
The student teacher experience can last from one semester/trimester up to a full high school academic year, and in some cases even longer. During this time, student teachers continue the training process and are assessed and evaluated throughout as they are considered for employment. Decisions about full-time employment are made by the administration of Seminaries and Institutes in Salt Lake City. Decisions about part-time employment are made by local S&I administrators and depend on current demand. There are always more student teachers than there are openings in any given year.

Schedule

When possible, the student to teacher ratio should be approximately 150-180 to one. It is recommended that there be no more than thirty-five students per class.
Qualifications
(Seminary) Bachelor's degree from an approved and accredited institution of higher learning, the successful completion of meticulous religious teacher training (preservice) and student teaching.

Two-year-old children are learning everything all at once - how to express emotions, build friendships, follow routines, and explore the world with confidence. Your role will be a meaningful part of helping them grow through loving guidance, consistent structure, and joyful connection.
Schedule & Availability
We are open Monday-Friday, 6:00am-6:30pm. This is a full-time position, and we're looking for someone with flexible availability to support the preschool area's needs throughout the day.
What a Typical Day Looks Like
Your days will be full of learning, laughter, movement, and milestone moments. You'll help create a classroom where two-year-old children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore.
Daily activities include:
• Greeting families and helping children transition smoothly into the classroom
• Leading circle time with songs, stories, movement, and early learning activities
• Supporting emerging independence with toileting, handwashing, and self-help skills
• Offering developmentally appropriate centers like blocks, dramatic play, sensory play, fine motor, and early math
• Guiding children through social-emotional moments with patience and positive language
• Planning and supervising outdoor play and gross motor activities
• Supporting classroom routines including meals, snacks, transitions, and rest time
• Sanitizing toys and surfaces while maintaining a safe, organized classroom
• Building connections through conversation, play, modeling, and encouragement
