Physical Requirements:

Licensed teacher substitutes receive a daily pay of $160.00 and Non-licensed teacher substitutes receive a daily rate of $130.00.
Here are the steps to becoming a substitute in GCS.
STEP 1 (APPLICATION) - Complete your application and apply to this job ID. If applying for a Substitute Teacher or Teacher Assistant, be sure to upload transcripts confirming completion of 48 semester hours with an overall GPA of 3.0 or an Associate's Degree or higher with an overall GPA of 2.0 or Work Keys passing test scores (Reading, Writing and Business Math).
STEP 2 (FORMS COMPLETION) - Following a review by our GCS Human Resource Team of your substitute application, we will send eligible candidates a packet of forms for completion.
STEP 3 (I-9 ID FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION & HEALTH CERTIFICATE) - After you complete all forms complete the next two items. 1) Provide identification for federal employment eligibility to Human Resources (714 Green Valley Rd, Greensboro - Monday through Friday - 8 AM until 5 PM). 2) Health Certificate: Health Exam and TB Test completed at your expense (options for completing health exam are shown when you click on the link provided) (Retired Teachers or Teacher Assistants from GCS: Your health certificate is valid/accepted for up to one year post retirement.)

This residential treatment concept combines promising and evidence-based practices with a strong family transition component and signifies a public-private partnership with the Division of Juvenile Justice which has produced an innovative shift in the way youth are served in North Carolina's juvenile justice system. Intensive, short-term services include individualized treatment and academic plans that combine formal and experiential education, community service, behavioral health, and family counseling in a non-punitive environment designed to address the youth's behavioral challenges through a strength-based approach.
