The Role - Programmer/Analyst
The Programmer/Analyst develops and maintains SQL databases, optimizes queries, and builds user-facing features in Hexagon Nexus software. They work cross-functionally to deliver scalable, high-performance data solutions while ensuring code is well-documented, tested, and version-controlled. Proficient in SQL (and preferably Python), they also support application rollouts, training, and process improvements. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, clear communication, and a commitment to continuous learning and safety.
What You'll Do
Design, build, and maintain SQL tables, views, stored procedures, and functions.
Optimize queries and database performance to meet defined SLAs.
Ensure database objects are properly documented, version-controlled, and tested.
Develop new user-facing features in Hexagon Nexus software.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable data solutions.
Support application rollouts, troubleshooting, and end-user training as needed.
What You Bring (Required Experience)
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
2-4 years of professional experience in SQL development.
Exposure to Python, APIs, or construction industry applications is a plus.
Strong organizational skills. Ability and self-motivation to create and maintain organized office systems.
Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely, orally or in writing, to audiences with varying levels of understanding.
Ability to act with tact and diplomacy in their dealings with people using good customer service and interpersonal skills, communicating effectively with clients and managers.
