Job Snap Shot: The Teacher's Aide will provide support for students to encourage their participation in classroom activities, music, physical education, therapy, and community experiences. Minimum Qualifications: Updated Clearances (Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse and FBI) Experience working within an autistic support program preferred Job Responsibilities: Always share in the responsibility for safety of all students. This includes monitoring students in hallways and bathrooms as needed. Supervision is also needed on the playground, cafeteria and during play and leisure activities. Assist with bus arrival, dismissal, and transport of students to/from classroom. Report student transportation concerns to transportation coordinator. Assist the classroom teacher in preparation of instructional materials. Communicate with the classroom teacher as needed regarding issues and concerns impacting on the classroom program. Write notes in diaries as requested by the classroom teacher. Communicate with the administration regarding issues impacting on the school program. Maintain student confidentiality in compliance with The Family Rights and Privacy Act. Complete additional duties as assigned and attend all required staff & parent meetings.
