Instructional Strategies
* Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student differences.
* Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned and present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
* Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP). Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
Student Growth and Development
* Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
* Assume responsibility for approved extracurricular activities or outside activities for which you are the sponsor.
* Be a positive role model for students; support mission of school district.
Classroom Management and Organization
* Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
* Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
* Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
* Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
* Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
Communication
* Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
Professional Growth and Development
* Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
* Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
* Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

Direct the work of instructional aide(s), if assigned.

Job Summary: The Behavior Teacher Aide supports the campus in promoting positive behavior, emotional regulation, and student accountability. This position assists in managing student conduct, de-escalating crisis situations, and maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment for students enrolled at Rhodes School for the Performing Arts (RSPA).
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.
Support teachers and staff in implementing student behavior expectations and campus discipline procedures.
2.
Monitor student behavior in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeteria, buses, and other areas to ensure safety and compliance with RSPA rules.
3.
Assist in de-escalating disruptive or crisis situations using approved verbal intervention and restorative practices.
4.
Model and reinforce appropriate social, emotional, and behavioral skills for students.
5.
Support the implementation of individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and document behavioral progress or incidents as directed.
6.
Supervise students throughout the day, including during arrival, transitions, lunch, and dismissal.
7.
Escort students to and from designated areas when needed to ensure safety and order.
8.
Communicate regularly with teachers, counselors, and administrators regarding student conduct and behavioral progress.
9.
Assist in re-entry meetings, safety plans, and other restorative processes following behavioral incidents.
10.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with students, staff, and families.
11.
Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to lunch duty, hallway monitoring, and bus supervision.
Education: Must have a High School diploma or its equivalent and have completed two years of college credit from an accredited junior college or university (defined as 48 completion hours), an associate's degree, or be deemed highly qualified.
Must be able to obtain an Education Aide Certification through TEA within 1 year of employment.
Work Experience: Experience working with at-risk youth, students with behavioral challenges, or in an alternative education setting is strongly preferred.
