This role will serve as an escalation point for end-user support and will play a key role in maintaining and improving our IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support for end users via phone, email, or in person
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in a Windows environment

Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting network infrastructure including routers, switches, access points, and firewalls

Qualifications:

2-5 years of experience in an IT support role or similar
Strong knowledge of networking concepts (OSI Model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching)

POSITION SUMMARY:
The School of Nursing (SON) is currently seeking a 12-month technology specialist who is also a clinically-current registered nurse or related health professional to serve in the Joanne Barkett Conway Simulation Center and Libermann Learning and Simulation Center. The specialist will work directly with graduate program directors, faculty, and students in the Joanne Barkett Conway Simulation Center and undergraduate faculty and students in the Libermann Learning and Simulation Center as they prepare residency and simulation experiences for students. Key to the position is the desire and ability to competently support the technological needs of the high-tech areas of the simulation labs. This position is responsible for managing the technical operations of the simulation lab and assist with educational technology in the SON which includes operating and maintaining all simulation lab technology, computers, simulation manikins, cameras, microphones and recording equipment. The specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical problems associated with existing hardware, software applications, people, and new technology solutions needed to make the SON technology environment a leading-edge space and user-friendly environment for students, faculty and staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist on-site and be present before and during all simulation scenarios to provide instruction, setup, assistance, and troubleshooting when needed. Ability to solely run simulation scenarios and communicate with clinical faculty and students if necessary.
Design, implement, and manage various educational technologies, on-line testing, task training devices, computer assisted instructional tools in the skills laboratory to directly support teaching, learning, practice, and assessment of clinical competencies.
Collaborate and assist faculty with planning, preparing, and conducting simulated activities, residencies, and related events.
Provide technical support for clinical simulation lab technology. Maintain computers used in clinical situations, manikin control, and debriefing. Perform regular software updates and maintenance on a scheduled basis to maintain equipment in proper working order.
Operate audio/video recording and streaming systems for lab simulation. Set up control room computers, configure sim and VR/AR equipment, position cameras and provide instruction to clinical faculty.
Provide technical support for hardware and software before, during and after lab simulations. Report missing or damaged equipment, contact vendors for additional technology troubleshooting, repairs, and warranty service.
Oversee efficient operations of the learning laboratories by maintaining supplies and equipment as needed. Prepare for simulation and residency experiences with equipment set-up, preparation of rooms, anticipate equipment, and general needs.
Be attentively present and flexible during lab activity events.
Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Knowledge of technologies related to direct patient care and abilities required to perform the essential job functions.
Clinically-current registered nurse, paramedic, or related health profession.
Must anticipate technology environmental changes and be forward-thinking.
Preferred qualifications:
Strong technology support background.
Emergency medicine paramedic (NREMT-P) or Nursing (Associate, Diploma, BSN) or Health Professions related degree with strong clinical background.

Broadly, this position provides front-line technical support for nearly all of the systems for which IT Services is responsible. Responsibilities include installation and/or configuration of computing hardware (computers, network switches, printers, etc.), software, A/V devices, network cabling, diagnostics, troubleshooting and end-user assistance.
Responsibilities
Document incoming helpdesk requests using internal ticketing system
Install, repair and maintain desktop and laptop computers, peripherals and related systems
Provide end user support via remote assistance, in person and telephone.
Support and enforce company information policies and procedures.
Provide support for Microsoft and Apple products including Laptops, desktops, MacBook and iPhone
Assist in maintaining hardware and software inventory for asset management.
Install and support AV equipment for classrooms, conference rooms and auditoriums
Demonstrate broad knowledge of technology principles, practices, and procedures
Self-manage in a way that allows flexibility to support multiple tasks at any given time
Assist in updating support documents within knowledge management for the IT Services team, as well as end users

Build and maintain relationships across departments

Requirements:
Education
Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Experience
2+ years of overall IT experience
2+ years' experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS environment
2+ years' experience supporting Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of network security practices and Antivirus software
Exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated and able to work across diverse technical and non-technical teams
Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Exceptional Customer-oriented attitude
ITIL (foundational level, but exposure to more detail than foundation is often necessary)

Position Summary
As an intern or co-op, you will have the opportunity to join one of several specialized groups within our Software Engineering department, gaining hands-on experience by performing the same day-to-day responsibilities as a full-time entry-level engineer. These teams include:
The Enterprise Development Team (EDT):
Designs and implements software applications, libraries, and database queries that improve business/manufacturing efficiency, management decision making, and other strategic objectives. ERP and/or DevOps experience is a plus but not a requirement. Day-to-day programming involves C#, SQL, and some JavaScript.
The Application Development Team (ADT):
Focuses on the applications and front-end features/functionality of Aerotech's motion control software. This involves both the design and implementation of user interfaces with a focus on user experience, and the coding that interfaces with the lower levels of the software stack. Day-to-day programming involves C# coding and WPF UI development.
The Embedded/Motion Development Team (MDT):
Focuses on developing embedded motion, path planning, task scheduling, device driver, and communication algorithms that execute in a real-time operating system and interface with on-board hardware. They develop on a variety of embedded hardware platforms that include ARM and Intel processors. Linux experience is a plus but not a requirement. Successful candidates have experience with C or C++, have experience interfacing with hardware in some way, and have a passion for good software organization/architecture.
The Full Stack Development Team (FST):
Focuses on the support and infrastructure of all other teams in the software/hardware stack of Automation1. Always on the lookout to help - they are responsible for gluing together the different layers of the software/hardware stack for Automation1. This involves management of the middle software layers, APIs, code-generation, build procedure, and internal tools, as well as implementation at any layer of the stack as needed. Day-to-day programming involves C, C++, and C#.
Essential Functions
Develops new or modifies existing embedded, enterprise, library, or application level software under the supervision of experienced engineers
Debugs software problems involving Aerotech or third-party software products
Conducts tests to verify the implementation of new software features and validate use cases
Documents and organizes test results for review by senior engineers
Minimum Qualifications
Eligible students are those currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Science from an ABET accredited college or university
Must maintain a GPA of 3.25 or above.
