Job DescriptionSalary: Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of warehouse staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Receive orders from fulfilment system and assign warehouse staff to complete the work. Monitor department activities to insure orders are filled in a timely fashion. All orders are manifested in a timely fashion. Manifest is closed at the end of the day and reports are printed. Foreign shipments are processed, paperwork is filled out and carrier is called. Materials received each day are processed in a timely fashion. Daily deliveries as well as any special deliveries are made. Inspect fire extinguishers monthly and arrange for yearly inspection by professional supplier of such services. Charge tow lift, picker and hand truck on a regular basis. Perform annual review of warehouse personnel. Submit purchase orders for necessary supplies to Manager for approval. Call delivery service when clients require this. Directly supervises 7 to 10 employees in the Distribution Services warehouse. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, including material handling, receiving, storage, and logistics. Ensure housekeeping standards are met to maintain a safe and organized facility. * Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to meet customer and production requirements. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely material flow and support manufacturing schedules. * Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular audits for accuracy. * Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to optimize processes and reduce costs. * Operate PIT equipment including tow motors, turrets, and electric pallet jack's as needed. * Back up all warehouse related areas of responsibility as needed. The Experience, Abilities, and Skills Required * 4 years Warehouse/Logistics or supply chain related experience with a High School Diploma. * 2 years experience in a Warehouse Operations supervisory role with an Associates degree in business, operations or supply chain management or equivalent experience preferred. * Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills * Familiar with LEAN methodologies and continuous improvement practices * Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office. Oracle experience preferred. * Thorough knowledge of inventory control processes and warehouse operations * Valid Ohio driver's license with acceptable driving record * Ability to operate required tools and equipment: Forklift, power jack, manual power jack, hand bander, stretch wrapper, and company box truck. Dispatches drivers to calls as they are received, using information on customer needs, drivers' locations and loads, and daily factors to balance cost and customer satisfaction. Works with customer and drivers to ensure proper service. Determines the daily level of driver staffing to provide best mix of responsiveness and productivity Assigns routes and service tickets to appropriate drivers for the next day and potentially any emergency service requested. Handles fields incoming calls and e-mails from customers; Communication with customers while drivers are at the location to resolve any potential issues with the service and ensure satisfaction. Ensures same-day service on missed pick-ups Qualifications Required Skills/Education: Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D (accredited). Experience: One year of relevant work experience with multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment with excellent organizational skills. Have experience working as a team. Computer skills with ability to handle multiple programs and systems Must be familiar with email, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Sheets.
