The Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact (Knight Campus) Department of Bioengineering at the University of Oregon (UO) invites applications for three tenure-track faculty positions. These three positions start a multi-year hiring plan for up to 16 positions. Department or Program Summary
The Department of Bioengineering is the flagship academic unit within Knight Campus. The Knight Campus is a bold new effort designed to accelerate the cycle of translating scientific discoveries into innovations that improve the quality of life for people in Oregon, the nation, and beyond. Rooted in the University of Oregon's 60-year history of interdisciplinary collaboration, the Knight Campus catalyzes new research opportunities, forges partnerships with industrial and clinical practitioners, and provides integrated experiential training for the next generation of citizen scientists and entrepreneurs. Initial faculty expertise is in the areas of regenerative medicine, human performance, biofunctional materials, medical devices and biosensors, neural engineering, and synthetic biology. The Department of Bioengineering is housed in the Knight Campus' spectacular 175,000-square-foot new building that opened in the fall of 2020. Minimum Requirements
• Doctorate in Engineering, Biology, Human Physiology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, or related discipline from an accredited institution of higher education.

Data Science is a new department that has grown out of a long-standing initiative to increase scholarship and education in quantitative methodology at the University of Oregon. Current faculty and affiliates reflect strengths in machine learning, biological modeling, data ethics, data sovereignty, computer science, environmental data science, climate change policy and modeling, evolutionary genetics, and forensic genetics. Plan, organize and instruct dance technique, composition, and choreography related to dance style with appropriate combinations and/or routines; includes but not limited to ballet, modern, jazz, folk, tap or hip hop; provides and prepares appropriate music for format.

Abilities: Communicate dance routine instructions both verbally and by demonstration; observe and correct improper techniques; modify combination for individual needs; select movements and/or music that is appropriate, safe and interesting to participants; counsel and motivate participants during class. Ability to provide good customer service in challenging situations. Ability to administer First Aid and CPR and follow emergency procedures. Identify and prevent hazards and maintain safe environment.
Physical Demands of the Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, bend, kneel, twist, jump, and stoop both indoors and outdoors. The position requires mobility including the ability to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis such as storing, setting up and cleaning up equipment and supplies. Department or Program Summary
Data Science is a new department that has grown out of a long-standing initiative to increase scholarship and education in quantitative methodology at the University of Oregon. We envision the Data Science Department to be a hub of ethical methodological data science research, with strong connections to domain areas of application, overall facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration across the university. Current faculty and affiliates reflect strengths in machine learning, biological modeling, data ethics, data sovereignty, computer science, environmental data science, climate change policy and modeling, evolutionary genetics, and forensic genetics. Department Summary
The Department of Finance, Lundquist College of Business, University of Oregon seeks to fill one faculty position at Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Professor of Practice of Real Estate. We seek someone with the ability to teach various applied real estate courses, including but not limited to real estate finance, real estate investment analysis, real estate development, commercial real estate, real estate valuation methods, and real estate market analysis. Our preference is to find an individual who has significant prior experience working in the real estate industry.
This is a 9-month instructional contract. Summer opportunities may be available.
Position Summary
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to teach up to eight graduate or undergraduate courses, primarily focused on commercial real estate. These might include topics like finance, investment, and development. If you're involved in research or take on additional responsibilities, there's flexibility to adjust your course load accordingly, with support from the department head and Senior Associate Dean.
Beyond teaching, you'll be part of a vibrant academic community. About 20% of your time will be dedicated to service activities-this could mean joining departmental or university committees, contributing to professional organizations, or mentoring student groups like our Real Estate Investment Group. We also value strong connections with the real estate industry, and you may serve as a liaison to help bridge academia and practice.
While research isn't a formal requirement for this position, we deeply appreciate a passion for field-based research in real estate. If that's something you're excited about, your work will be welcomed and supported.
Professional development is also a key part of this role. Staying current in the field and attending relevant conferences will help you grow and bring fresh insights into the classroom.
You'll also play an important role in advising both undergraduate and graduate students, supporting them through office hours, project guidance, and one-on-one mentorship.
Minimum Requirements
To quality for an Assistant Teaching Professor position
* Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in real estate, construction, or business-related discipline
* Experience teaching quantitative courses, as demonstrated by prior teaching expertise, teaching evaluations, or teaching demonstration
For appointment at the rank of Associate Teaching Professor, candidates must also demonstrate they have six years of teaching experience post-receipt of a master's degree. The additional teaching experience does not guarantee appointment at the Associate Teaching Professor rank.
To qualify for a Professor of Practice, candidates must also demonstrate they
* Have a substantial basis of experience equal to a tenured professor (normally a minimum of 12 years) and a national/international reputation for excellence reflected in a record of significant accomplishments
* Have a profile of accumulated professional accomplishments fully congruent with the rank of professor
* Have a rich and extensive background in a field and discipline relevant to the school, college, or unit of appointment at the University of Oregon, and
* Can serve as a liaison between the professional field and the University of Oregon.

Position Purpose:
The Apprenticeship Program Part-time Faculty position will be responsible for apprenticeship-related training courses.
The primary responsibility of the apprenticeship instructor is to provide quality teaching in a full range of community college apprenticeship courses. Courses may include in-person and/or remote online instruction while presenting innovative lecture and lab components. The accompanying instruction, depending on the class, may be delivered in several formats which include both traditional lectures and online presentations.

The Phlebotomy Instructor position is essential in training and forming highly skilled Phlebotomist technicians by applying approved and effective techniques of student supervision, motivation, and classroom management; and appropriate curriculum and instructional materials for the assigned subject area. They will be responsible for ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment, as well as providing guidance and support for students to succeed in gaining the necessary knowledge and skills in preparation for the certification.
Essential Functions:
* Participation in teaching courses
* Evaluation of student achievement
* Development of curriculum, policy and procedures
* Assessment of program outcomes
* Develop and maintain a variety of administrative records; prepare reports as necessary; safely and effectively operate various equipment appropriate for the assigned instructional area.
* Establish and maintain professional working relationships with staff, the public, and other agency personnel
* Perform the job safely, demonstrate and teach effectively the technical area(s) of Certified Phlebotomy Technician specifically to train individuals in the techniques of the following:
* Infection Control, Standard/Universal precautions and safety
* Anatomy and physiology of body systems with emphasis on the circulatory system
* The appropriate Medical Terminology
* Proper identification of Patient and Specimens; the importance of accuracy in overall patient care
* Proper selection and preparation of skin puncture site selection, including selection of antiseptic
* Blood Collection Equipment, types of tubes and additives, proper order of draw when additives are required, and special precautions
* Post-puncture care
* Appropriate Disposal of sharps, needles and waste
* Advanced infectious disease control and biohazards
* Anti-coagulation Theory
* Knowledge of pre-analytical sources of errors in specimen collection, transport processing and storage
* Anatomical site selection and patient preparation
* Risk factors and appropriate responses to complications which may arise from phlebotomy
* Recognition of problems with test requisitions, specimen transport and processing
* Corrective actions to take for problems in test requisitions, specimen transport and processing
* Application of basic concepts of communication, interpersonal relations, stress management, professional behavior, ethics and legal implications of phlebotomy
* Quality assurance in phlebotomy necessary to provide accurate and reliable laboratory test results
* Legal issues related to blood collection
* Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students
* Other duties as assigned

Supervision Statement:
Supervision of other personnel is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers.
Works under the general direction of the Dean of Health Professions, Health and Physical Education and the Associate Dean/Director of Nursing.
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
This position works indoors and is exposed to usual office working conditions that include office noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors. This position requires that an employee is able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; bend, kneel, stoop,reach, and manipulate objects; perform cognitive and psychometric work for extended periods of time. Remain on their feet for extended periods of time. This position may work with individuals who may be hostile or abusive. Work may require transporting materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Assist students in positioning patients. Work safely.
