This question is about Chevron.
Yes, Chevron drug tests. Chevron remains committed to maintaining a safe, drug-and alcohol-free workplace for all employees and contractors. DISA Global Solutions has been a valued partner for Chevron's corporate drug and alcohol testing program since 2008.
Chevron has a strict no-drug policy as evident in their employee code of conduct. All new hires must take a pre-employment drug test as part of the onboarding process. Moreover, Chevron has the right to drug test any employee if they suspect an employee is at work intoxicated or if an employee is involved in a workplace accident.
Employees who perform DOT-covered functions under the Pipeline Hazard Materials Safety Administration, Federal Aviation Administration, United States Coast Guard, or Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration are then enrolled in the appropriate random testing pool and subject to selection under federal regulations. DOT-regulated employees participate in Chevron's non-DOT random testing program in addition to DOT testing programs.
Chevron asks new hires to take a urine or blood sample as part of their on-boarding process. Employees may be asked to test on-site using a mouth-swab or to provide a urine sample to be analyzed at a third party lab. Chevron tests for the following drugs:
Amphetamines
Cannabis
Cocaine
Opiates
Phencyclidine
Barbiturates
Benzodiazepines
Methaqualone
Methadone
Propoxyphene
Alcohol (on-site test)
Cannabis is a deal breaker for Chevron regardless if you have a medical cannabis card or if you live in a state where cannabis is legalized. If you fail your pre-employment drug test Chevron automatically terminates you from the hiring process and you can reapply in one year. If you are an employee who fails a drug test, then you are either terminated or given the option to join their Second Chance Program.
Employees are eligible for a single, lifetime opportunity to enroll in the Employee Assistance and WorkLife Services (EAP-WL) substance abuse return to work program as a contingency of continued employment following a positive drug and/or alcohol screen. Chevron recognizes that substance use, abuse, and addiction is best addressed through a rehabilitation approach.
Chevron is also a smoke-free workplace. Employees are not allowed to use tobacco or vaping products while inside the building, company car, or at work related events.
