Who owns Nvidia?

Jen-Hsun Huang, Cole M. Kress, and Mark A. Stevens own Nvidia and are the top three individual shareholders in the company. Top institutional shareholders in the company include The Vanguard Group, Inc., BlackRock Inc., and FMR LLC.

Nvidia was founded by Jensen Huang in 1993 as a technology company focused on computer chips, computer graphics, video games, and other technological endeavors.

In the 2000s, due to the success of its products, the company was awarded a contract with Microsoft's X-box video game console. This earned Nvidia a $200 million advance soon after the company acquired the intellectual assets of one of its competitors, 3dfx.

Then in 2002, Nvidia acquired Exluna for an undisclosed sum and also MediaQ for approximately $70 million. It was named Forbes Company of the Year in 2007.

In 2019, Nvidia purchased Mellanox Technologies for $6.9 billion in an attempt to substantially expand its footprint in the high-performance computing market. And soon after, in 2020, Nvidia announced its intent to buy Arm Holdings from SoftBank Group for $40 billion.

In 2022, Nvidia had annual revenue of $26.91 billion with 22,473 employees working at the company.
