1972

A. O. Smith was a leading supplier of line pipe until it exited the business in 1972.

1982

In 1982, APCOM purchased Volunteer Tool & Die, Inc., located in Cookeville, Tennessee.

1986

Business expands into supplying oil field pipe and pipe for service stations, eventually becoming Smith Fiberglass Products in 1986.

2001

Since 2001, APCOM has been a part of the A. O. Smith Corporation family of companies.

2002

The protective coatings group was added to the APCOM portfolio of products in 2002.

2011

A. O. Smith buys Lochinvar (July 2011).

2013

A. O. Smith buys MiM Water Technologies in Istanbul, Turkey (February 2013), entering the water treatment market.
