I am a Maintenance Electrician with a total of almost 25 years in the Electrical Trade and have been working offshore in the Oil and Gas Drilling Industry for almost 8 years. During this time, I have worked in several different countries, performing all of the tasks and functions of a Chief Rig Electrician. I currently work for Atwood Oceanics, a world leader in offshore drilling. With Atwood, I am responsible for the Electrical Maintenance on an Oil Drilling Rig. The vessel, called the Atwood Admiral, is a 6th Generation Ultra Deep-Water DP3 Drill Ship, which is among the largest and most technologically advanced in the world.

As a Chief Electrician on board a Drilling Rig, I am in charge of performing all aspects of maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of the Electrical Power Generation and Distribution systems, Drilling systems and HVAC on the vessel. Prior to my experience offshore, as an Electrical Foreman, I have also supervised and mentored as many as 25 Electrical Journeyman and Apprentices on several high profile construction projects pertaining to Environmentally Safe (Green Building) Technology. These commercial buildings used automatic dimming control of lighting systems synchronized with natural ambient lighting. They also made use of rain water reclamation.
