Position Overview
Join us in the summer of 2026 and help us continue the legacy of fostering creativity, nurturing talent, and celebrating the individual artistic journey at Interlochen. We are seeking efficient and friendly Front of House Servers who embody our core values and are committed to nurturing young artists. As a front of house server as part of our Dining Services team, you'll play a major role in providing meals to all campus residents while fully immersing yourself in the unique environment that only a summer camp can offer.

Address guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests promptly and professionally.

Seating and Reservations: Manage reservations and walk-ins efficiently.
Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
Organize seating arrangements to optimize service flow.
Order Taking and Serving: Take food and beverage orders accurately.
Communicate orders clearly to the kitchen and bar staff.
Serve meals and beverages in a timely and professional manner.
Cleanliness and Presentation: Maintain a clean and tidy dining area, including tables, chairs, and floors.
Reset tables promptly after guests leave, ensuring readiness for the next party.
Ensure that restrooms and other guest-accessible areas are clean and well-stocked.
Coordination with Back of House (BOH): Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery.
Communicate guest feedback or special requests to the BOH team.
Help resolve any service delays or issues.
Cash and Payment Handling: Process bills and payments accurately.
Handle cash, credit card, and digital payment transactions securely.
Balance cash registers and report discrepancies if applicable.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with hosts, servers, bartenders, and bussers to ensure smooth service.
Support other team members during peak times or staff shortages.
Attend team meetings and training sessions as required.
Promoting the Establishment: Represent the brand positively through professional appearance and behavior.
Upsell menu items and encourage repeat visits through exceptional service.
Stay knowledgeable about the menu, seasonal offerings, and promotions.

This is a seasonal position located in Interlochen, Michigan. Housing is not included for this position, and employees are responsible for arranging their own accommodations.
What You Need
Availability 6/17/2026 - 8/12/2026
Previous related experience working in food service a plus.
Able to work in an outdoor environment for an extended period.
No specific skills necessary, we will train.
Applicant must be at least 14 years of age at time of application.
Must understand basic safety and sanitation regulations
Must have hand and finger dexterity to handle serving equipment
Be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees
Be able to follow verbal and written instructions
Must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time, sometimes up to 4 hours
Able to work in hot and humid conditions
Able to work evenings and weekends as scheduled
