As a Chief Operating Officer and Senior Leader for more than 15 years, I am a results driven executive with a comprehensive array of leadership and management skills that have been developed through my broad and unique career spanning the nonprofit, banking, government, legal and political sectors. As the former Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for The Executive Leadership Council (ELC), I was responsible for leading operations and the strategic direction with responsibility for the organization's revenue streams including product development, learning and training programs, fundraising, gala management and member services. These programs created revenue of more than $12M annually.Prior to the ELC, I served as COO for United Way of the National Capital Area, where I led the organization’s operations, including IT, facilities, community impact, marketing and communications and fundraising teams. My operations experience also includes my tenure as COO for the Washington, D.C. Office of the State Superintendent of Education. As COO, I led student transportation, procurement, human resources and general operations, with my largest accomplishment being the removal of the student transportation out of court receivership.Prior to my operations positions, I served on the transition team for the Bank of America/Merrill Lynch merger, where I worked to integrate their market risk programs, and as a Credit Risk Manager in Capital Markets Structured Finance, focusing on mortgage finance and derivatives. I also practiced corporate law at Saul Ewing, LLP.I've held several political positions including serving as the Federal Affairs Director for the City of Atlanta under the leadership of Mayor Bill Campbell and as a Legislative Assistant for Congressman John Lewis of Atlanta in the U.S. House of Representatives.My board service includes the D.C. Bar Foundation, Young Black Giving Back and Calvary Women’s Services. I am a Woodrow Wilson Fellow and have received numerous awards, including the 2019 Washington Business Journal's Women Who Mean Business Award.
