The Director leads a national team consisting of three Senior Investigations Managers and 15 Field Investigators, ensuring investigative excellence, consistent execution, and alignment with the company's objectives for reducing shortages. This position requires close collaboration with Territory, Regional, and District Asset Protection Leaders to create investigative strategies that prioritize the field teams' role in identifying, developing, and channeling information to the Field Investigations team through a structured, partnership-driven process. The Director also works cross-functionally with store operations, legal, HR, and IT to increase investigative efficiency and impact.
**A Day In The Life**
+ Lead and develop a national External Field Investigations organization consisting of **3 Senior Investigations** **Managers and 15 Field Investigators** , ensuring high performance, accountability, and investigative excellence.
+ Establish and manage a metrics framework that measures impact beyond case closures, including total loss reduction, quality of multi-incident linkage, repeat-offender disruption, investigation cycle time and completeness, law-enforcement partnership effectiveness, and overall contribution to shortage goals.
+ Build and strengthen partnerships with federal, state, and local law enforcement to support major case development, coordinated blitzes, and multi-jurisdictional investigations.
+ Develop and strengthen partnerships with national and regional ORCA groups and peer retailers to support shared intelligence, coordinated action, and collective disruption of theft groups affecting the broader retail network.
+ Drive continuous improvement of investigative processes, the external case management system, and evidence standards, while evaluating and implementing new tools and technologies that strengthen team effectiveness and investigative impact.
+ Partner with Territory, Regional, and District AP Leaders to create investigative strategies that strengthen cross-functional collaboration and establish the field teams as the first point of case identification, ensuring timely and consistent information flow to the Field Investigations team.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Minimizing Operational Shortage
Achieve shortage reduction goals for assigned stores/district(s)/area.
Understand and respond to shortage processes (i.e. CNS, MOS, Front-End Operations, MPT, etc.) and analytics.
Identify shortage risks through regular review of indicator reports; partner with stores to develop action plans to address/minimize operational shortage.

Mitigating Theft & Fraud

Maximize utilization of all available merchandise protection tools and resources (including EAS, domes, alarm equipment, fitting room controls, shortage highway, etc.) to address loss in stores and throughout the company.
Ensure consistent execution of all deterrence resources/tools to proactively combat external loss.
Leverage exception and store reporting systems to identify theft activity (including cash shortage) in assigned stores.
Drive resolution and case closure on all internal and external investigations, including timely follow up on internal leads from the corporate Investigative Analyst team or the Alertline process and external intelligence from other retailers or law enforcement groups regarding current market theft trends.
Maintain appropriate confidentiality thorough internal investigations; partner with store/district leadership and Human Resources to address associate behavior and take corrective actions.
Drive an impactful and effective SPS program by participating in store efforts to hire, train, and develop SPS associates in assigned stores/district(s)/area.

Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment
Drive achievement of accident reduction goals for General Liability GL) and Workers Compensation (WC) for assigned stores/district(s)/area.
Conduct regular Loss Prevention safety audits for compliance of all accident and critical incident preventative standards and programs.
Promote a safety-first culture by conducting regular store audits, supporting the proper utilization of safety incentive awards, and joining in safety celebrations for accident-free months.
Participate regularly in store and district conference calls to bring greater awareness to safety initiatives and emergency/crisis response procedures.
Execute effective crisis management and incident response; coach and train store leadership and associates on accident investigation findings, areas of opportunity, and future prevention techniques.
Provide physical security expertise and ensure proper functionality of store-based security technologies including alarms, CCTVs, Intellex, etc.
Regularly evaluate building integrity and partner with store management to follow up on any equipment failure.

What You Will Do
* Pick, stage, inspect, and fulfill customer orders accurately and on time, keeping staging areas clean, organized, and safe.
* Deliver excellent service by choosing high quality items, validating orders, answering questions, and connecting customers with the right associates when needed.
* Operate and maintain certification for powered equipment (Forklift, Order Picker, Narrow Aisle Reach Truck) and follow all safety requirements.
* Support inventory accuracy by using the Orders App, maintaining SIMS compliance, and partnering with leadership to resolve short picks.
* Complete administrative, maintenance, and readiness tasks such as audits, order follow-ups, and locker management, while reporting safety or theft concerns promptly.
* Achieve daily job responsibilities with a customer-first mindset with strong communication and teamwork skills.
* May be assigned other duties to support the needs of the business.
Minimum Qualifications
* Ability to operate tools and power equipment at heights 20+ feet (ladders, stairs, forklift, order picker, etc.)
* Ability to walk and stand continuously throughout all areas of a store 15k+ steps daily.
* Experience using technology such as a smartphone and other general computer equipment.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
* Customer-first mindset with strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
* Commitment to safety standards and compliance requirements.
* Forklift Certification Powered Equipment Certification: Counterbalance Forklift, Order Picker, and Narrow Aisle Reach Truck (Required; must be obtained if not already certified).
Preferred Work Experience
* High school diploma or GED
* Previous retail, warehouse, or fulfillment experience.
Pay Range: $15.50 - $16.15 per hour
