The Laundry Assistant provides residents with an adequate supply of clean clothing and linen on a daily basis by following established policies and procedures, maintaining related laundry equipment, and sorting and folding clothing.
Essential Functions
Wash, dry, and hang or fold all residents/tenants' clothing, bedding, tablecloths, etc. along with facility linens.
Sort personal clothing and linen into appropriate bins for washing.
Distribute clean linen to resident care areas in appropriate, covered carts.
Stock linen carts and closets accurately. Must be able to count and record information.
Clean and maintain all laundry containers and bins according to policy and procedure.
Applies all infection control, departmental, and facility policies and procedures which directly affect laundry duties.
Monitor and restock cleaning chemicals and detergents as necessary.
Report any malfunctioning laundry equipment or unsafe work areas to supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Ideal Candidate
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
Experience in laundry services is preferred.
Compensation
