Summary Description:
Our Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) are designed to better meet the behavioral health needs at earlier junctures in a child/youth's life to prevent the onset or progression of behavioral health conditions. These mobile services are provided in the home and community and aim to prevent the need for more restrictive and higher intensity services for children and youth. Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services are designed to restore, rehabilitate, and support a child's/youth's developmentally appropriate functioning as necessary for the integration of the child/youth as an active and productive member of their family and community with the goal of achieving minimal on-going professional intervention. Activities are “hands on” and task oriented, intended to achieve the identified goals or objectives as set forth in the child/youth's individualized treatment plan. These services must include assisting the child/youth to develop and apply skills in natural settings. PSR is intended to foster and promote the development of needed skills identified in assessment or through the ongoing treatment of a licensed practitioner. Services are delivered in a trauma informed, culturally and linguistically competent manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage the child and their family in a variety of strategies (including counseling and functional supports) to work toward identified goals.
Engage in regular communication with the child's team, to ensure continuity of care.
Document client progress and maintain a permanent record of client activity according to established methods and procedures.
Practice with a person-centered, trauma informed philosophy in alignment with the values of Greater Mental Health of NY.
Due to the nature of the program, must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Position Summary
Working under the general direction of the Director of Facilities & Conservation, the Tree CareWorker is primarily responsible for caring for all trees, plants, and native grasses across 500 acres of Storm King's property. This role represents a unique opportunity for someone who has both the knowledge and experience to proactively plan a comprehensive tree care and plant health program as well as the physical desire and ability to execute the work.

Responsibilities
The Tree CareWorker responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Tree Care, Plant Health & Native Grass Maintenance
Execute full-scale plant health care program, including but not limited to:
Pruning
Planting
Tree protection
Tree removal
Invasive plant removal
Stump removal
Integrated pest management (IPM)
Tree condition assessments
Regularly navigate site to inspect for potential tree hazards
Remove snow by shoveling and/or operating mechanical snow removal equipment
Emergency storm response
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
Maintain a clean and orderly environment in workshop and storage area
Monitor inventory and equipment care
Safely operate light vehicles such as lifts, riding mowers, sprayers, and golf carts
Follow all OSHA safety standards associated with the landscape, horticultural, tree and construction industry
Ensure that grounds and maintenance equipment are operational by performing routine and preventative maintenance and cleaning of tools and machines
Facilities & Conservation Support
Support with general maintenance of site, including occasionally assisting with repairs & installation of artwork.
Fill out maintenance reports and take photos for documentation purposes
Assist with the conservation of sculptures and fabrication, installation of exhibitions, and removal of exhibitions pieces both outside and in the indoor galleries
Support with ad-hoc requests to support Facilities & Conservation as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the planting, care, and maintenance of trees
Experience operating heavy machinery, such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, tree chippers, all-terrain forklifts, etc.
Valid NYS Drivers' License required
NYS Commercial Pesticide Applicators License Category 3A preferred
Familiarity with ANSI (American National Standards Institute) A300 standards
Past tree climbing and aerial lift operation are a plus, though direct climbing or lift use is not part of the day-to-day role
Ability to follow both oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others
Ability to work both independently and in teams
Ability to engage in critical thinking skills that allow for prioritizing issues, coordinating multiple projects and problem solving
Strong working knowledge of common insects, pests, diseases and proper tools for treatment & mitigation
Working Environment
Works primarily outdoors
Ability to maneuver outdoors, in all weather conditions, on 500 acres of hills, grass, and gravel path ways
