POSITION SUMMARY: A Child Watch Attendant is a direct care position responsible for assisting in the implementation of daily program activities and care of YMCA member's children while in Child Watch. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supervises, actively participates in, and assists children in activities Practices basic safety and health policies; guides children clean-up routines, bathroom habits and general development Completes required documentation (i.e. incident reports) Practices infection control procedures and proper hand washing Establishes and maintains a child friendly center. Implements appropriate discipline techniques as needed Knows fire and emergency procedures and acts accordingly when necessary Maintains current Pediatric and Child CPR and First Aid certifications. Completes child abuse prevention and appropriate touch trainings on an annual basis Attends staff meetings Reports any suspected abuse to coordinator/ director Prepares center materials as needed Responsible to know and follow established policies and procedures of the YMCA and Child Watch Maintains a positive attitude toward children and their families Maintains confidentiality and treats all families with dignity and respect Performs all janitorial duties (i.e. wiping down tables, sweeping the floor, etc.) All other duties as assigned LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES: Communication & Influence Engaging Community Inclusion Emotional Maturity QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or general educational development certificate preferred At least 6 months experience with children Obtain a state police clearance, a child abuse clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance Must have or obtain Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid Must have or obtain mandated reporter training WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.     Healthy Kids Programs is hiring staff for our Before and After School Program for the 2025-2026 school year. JOB STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt POSITIONS AVAILABLE: Childcare Program Staff PAY: $13.50 per hour HOURS: 7:00 - 8:30 am and 3:05 - 6:05 pm The Before and After-School Program team is responsible for: Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework assistance. Providing a safe, healthy, clean, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program. Reporting to the program ready to work at designated times and be prepared to stay until the last child leaves the program. Communicating daily with parents and family members via the Playground App. Observing and following state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies. Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing. Requirements MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferably 1 year of experience working with kids under 13. Medically cleared of any communicable diseases including TB. Must be warm, friendly, and upbeat. Exceptional people skills, professional, reliable, and prompt. Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and do whatever it takes to keep up with the children. PART-TIME BENEFITS: Employer Paid Childcare - Available for school-age children (ages 5-13) enrolled in our program, on the days you work.
