We are seeking experienced Construction Managers to independently oversee, manage, and coordinate medium to high complexity Federal construction projects from planning through final delivery. Projects may include both vertical (buildings, facilities, utilities) and horizontal (civil, infrastructure, airfields, roadways) construction with agencies such as USACE, AFCEC, and NAVFAC. This position is a pipeline requisition for future project assignments supporting upcoming Federal contracts.
Job Duties:
- Plan, direct, and manage all phases of Federal construction projects to ensure successful execution in accordance with project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of contractors, subcontractors, and on-site personnel to maintain quality, safety, and compliance with contractual and technical requirements.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Federal government client's construction branch, project stakeholders, and contractors, maintaining effective communication and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and evaluate construction documents, including safety plans, QC plans, design drawings, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical reports, ensuring alignment with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), client-specific design standards, and applicable codes.
- Lead and participate in pre-construction conferences, design and progress meetings, on-site inspections, and project closeout activities, including development and management of punch lists.
- Ensure that all construction activities are executed in accordance with federal safety, environmental, and quality standards, including agency-specific requirements.
- Track project performance metrics, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant project delivery.
- Mentor and train junior staff, fostering technical growth and promoting adherence to company and industry best practices in construction management.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and official correspondence for submission to federal agencies.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety across all project sites, ensuring compliance with OSHA, USACE, and agency-specific safety standards.
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned to support successful project outcomes and client satisfaction.

Superintendent II will assist more senior Superintendents on the day-to-day responsibilities of multi-family residential and mixed-use construction projects from start to finish. YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Work is primarily performed outdoors on an actuve construction site (s), often in varying weather conditions and around heavy equipment.
* Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times, to include; hard hat, high visibility vest / clothing, and safety shoes or boots.
* Must be able to: stand, walk, sit for extended periods across uneven surfaces. Use hands and fingers to handle tools, documents, or equipment; and reach with arms above, at, or below shoulder height.Climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding as needed for site inspections.Lift and carry materials and equipment (up to 15 lbs frequently, occasionally more) and position self as required to inspect or adjust equipment. Use near and mid-range vision for reviewing drawings, computer work, and site plans. Bend, kneel, or crouch to access project materials, cabling, or installed systems.

RK&K is currently hiring an experienced Project Engineer with experience in Heavy Civil/Highway construction project administration and management to join our team in South Georgia. As a Project Engineer at RK&K you will manage complex bridge, urban, or interstate reconstruction projects and strengthen our CEI teams in South Georgia. Must have experience leading construction management teams of inspectors and administrative staff on GDOT projects.
Essential Functions
Management and administration of heavy civil, highway and structures projects including leading teams of Junior Project Engineers, Office Managers, Senior Inspectors, Inspectors, CPM Reviewers, and administrative staff on projects
Responsibilities include the review of monthly estimates, final estimates, change orders/supplemental agreements, and claims
Facilitating preconstruction meetings, progress meetings, and pre-activity meetings
Responding to questions which may arise in the field during construction and working to determine the appropriate solution
Visiting construction sites to monitor project progress and adherence to plans and specifications
Managing project inspection staff and ensuring their training and equipment needs are met
Participating in plan reviews, project scoping meetings, and staffing projections
Interacting with clients and participating in project interviews, when necessary
Miscellaneous support activities, as necessary
Must possess high integrity and ethics in all aspects of dealing with clients, subconsultants, and peers
Required Skills and Experience
Ten (10) + years of experience in roadway and structures construction
Five (5) + years of experience managing construction projects in Georgia
Advanced working knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and construction methods, materials, and equipment
Working knowledge of GDOT manuals, policies, and procedures, include the Construction Manual
Ability to understand, explain, and administer contracts; and interpret construction plans, provisions, standards, and specifications
Ability to train, coordinate, and supervise inspection technicians in the field
Understanding of QA/QC development and execution process
Travel between job sites is expected, clean driving record
Preferred Skills and Experience
Professional Engineer or Certified Construction Manager
Bachelors in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
GDOT Worksite Erosion Control Supervisor (WECS)
GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification.
GSWCC Level 1A
Previous experience with GDOT, especially as Project Engineer
Previous experience with GDOT Districts 1 and 2
