Your Impact as Healthcare Superintendent

Required Qualifications:
6-10+ years of experience as a Field Superintendent with proven success managing complex commercial construction projects
Healthcare construction expertise with multiple hospital or laboratory projects, including experience in occupied healthcare facilities where patient safety is paramount
Strong working knowledge of ICRA (Infection Control) protocols and practical application in active hospital construction environments
Familiarity with Washington State Department of Health regulations and inspection processes for healthcare construction

The Construction Project Manager, Washington is part of the National Strategic Engagement Team (NSET) and oversees all outside contractors and aspects of building efficiency upgrades, solar, and decarbonization construction project from start to finish. Commercial Construction Senior Superintendent - Mission Critical
Job Description:
A Senior Superintendent (Supt.) directs the work flow of the project on site consistent with the project schedule and HITT safety and quality standards. The Senior Supt. provides leadership and serves as the liaison between project team members to promote the interest of both the business and clients in all matters, as well as demonstrate the characteristics of a mid-level leader. Senior Supt.s communicate project priorities to site staff and all subcontractors, serving as the primary leader on site for the construction project.
Responsibilities
* Understanding and administering the HITT safety program to include all subcontractors, ensuring that all accidents/incidents are promptly reported and investigated, and assisting in safety inspections by outside agencies
* Maintain HITT quality standards for all aspects of the project
* Serve as the leader for all on site safety, managing a safe jobsite for all involved
* Maintain daily log of all activities and site conditions, while managing the punch list and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance
* Work with the project manager in formulating project schedule, ensuring that the proper methods and sequence of installation are followed, making and following through with schedule commitments, and maintaining HITT quality standards
* Maintain good working relationships with all subcontractors on the project, developing relationships within the community which enhance business opportunities, and ensuring subcontractors are treated fairly
* Ensure complete, accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets, understanding subcontractor scope of work to avoid unnecessary change orders, and identifying problems early and act immediately to provide solutions
* Develop and organize the site team, arranging for temporary facilities/utilities for the site, and identifying long lead items that need to be expedited
* Collaborate with the project manager and site operations team throughout the life of the project
Qualifications
* A four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
* In lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable.
* 8-10 years' experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor
* Tenant renovations, service work, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, fast paced project experience all a plus
* Mastery of building processes and best practices
* Ability to organize necessary resources, including people, tools and time to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results
* Project lead experience preferred Previous experience in a superintendent or project lead experience preferred
* Ability to master sector/project-specific software systems including but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite (ex. Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam,
* OSHA 30 Certification preferred
* Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time and the ability to lift up to 50lbs
* Must demonstrate a strong ability to:
* Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally, with a strong focus on audience appropriate business writing and verbal skills

In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, section RCW 49.58.110, the base salary range for this position is:
$132,000.00 - $181,500.00
Compensation in other cities and states may vary. Our construction jobs are usually located on government military bases; therefore, in order to perform your duties, you must be granted access to the jobsite location on the government bases. The government will authorize base access by running a background screening and ensuring possession of a valid, current driver's license. The responsibilities of the Superintendent are to coordinate day to day activities of all phases of projects; ensuring the project is on time, in budget and with 100% owner satisfaction. This candidate will lead the onsite team and will be responsible for coordinating with Headquarters regarding all onsite personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:
Maintain safety and infection control on all jobs, including the completion of proper documentation. Hold safety meetings and toolbox talks.
Management of the project schedule by the look ahead scheduling; weekly jobsite meetings and sub vendor coordination accordingly.
Interpret drawings and proactively identify potential constructability issues and work with project team to resolve.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED & PREFERRED:
Experience as a Superintendent for a General Contractor; minimum 10 years.
Experience as a Superintendent on Design Build projects; minimum 5 years.
BS construction or related degree is preferred but not required.
CPR, Standard First Aid & OSHA 30 certificate required.
ASHE Certification is strongly preferred.
Contractor Quality Control Management Certificate (USACE CQM) is strongly preferred.
Federal healthcare Superintendent experience is strongly preferred.
Strong working knowledge of infection control standards.
Superior understanding of OSHA safety guidelines and the implementation/management of these guidelines. Follows the guidelines.
Demonstrates strong knowledge of the buildings required codes and abides by the requirements.
