TransPremier is looking for an Asphalt Milling Machine Crew Member who is a skilled laborer who operates and assists in maintaining asphalt milling machines used in road construction and maintenance projects. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the milling machine while working as part of a crew to remove old asphalt surfaces, preparing the area for resurfacing or reconstruction. This position involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and teamwork.
Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Complete optimum utilization of equipment and labor maximizing production.
Operate and control the asphalt milling machine to remove asphalt surfaces from roads, highways, parking lots, and other paved areas.
Monitor the milling process to ensure consistent and even removal of asphalt surfaces without damaging the underlying pavement structure.
Be a team player and work alongside fellow milling crew members.
Synchronize with fellow crew members, customers, and dump trucks to load millings into truck bed.
Ensure a safe work environment by inspecting all surroundings and minimizing any safety liabilities.
Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
Make sure the milling machine is washed and maintained after every shift worked.
Operate other equipment and tools as needed to ensure the completion of the assigned project.

Performs custodial tasks, i.e., emptying and cleaning waste receptacles; washing windows; dusting furniture; cleaning vents, fans, walls.
Performs sanitizing tasks in various facility areas, i.e., restrooms, kitchen and food areas, cafeterias.
Performs physically demanding tasks requiring use of heavy custodial equipment, i.e., mopping, stripping, waxing, floor buffing.
Responds to emergency situations in order to confine, resolve or prevent injurious or otherwise hazardous conditions, i.e., spills, broken windows, broken locks.
Moves furniture and other equipment in the performance of duties.
Cleans equipment and tools after use and maintains cleanliness and order in storage areas; reports equipment malfunctions and facility maintenance needs to immediate supervisor.
Performs routine maintenance on facility custodial equipment, such as changing vacuum cleaner belts and bags, and changing buffer machine pads.
Performs non-cleaning tasks in general facility maintenance, i.e., changing light bulbs, filling paper and soap dispensers, assisting in setting up for meeting/conferences.
Leads custodial crews in major custodial projects, such as in seasonal facility preparations or floor stripping and waxing.
Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
Responsible for timely and accurate information they maintain as part of their job responsibilities.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by up to two (2) years previous successful custodial work experience, with demonstrated leadership abilities; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must obtain Custodian certification issued from the Florida School Plant Management Association (FSPMA) within one (1) year of obtaining this position. OCPS conducts training classes sponsored by the FSPMA for this certification.
Effective March 19, 2007, all new hires to this position must successfully complete the Industrial Physical Capability Screening (IPCS); previous incumbents holding this position without a break in service are not required to have this screening.

General Description
