Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to work in the Applied Materials Division (AMD). In this position the successful candidate will conduct applied research to develop sustainable innovative technologies to improve the efficiency of resource and energy utilization; to increase our economic competitiveness; and to enhance our national security. The successful candidate should have expertise and experience in process modeling, techno-economic analysis (TEA) and life cycle analysis (LCA) of lithium-ion batteries and/or recycling and resources to products. The candidate should have a good understanding of battery recycling technologies, sources and production technologies of battery materials, and/or 2nd life applications of batteries and conversion of waste streams to products. An understanding of process scale-up and chemical plant design is of importance as well. The candidate should be familiar with databases and analytical models relevant to process simulation, TEA and LCA, and have a good knowledge of current and future resource recovery and separation technologies.
