Position Summary: We're looking for a Data Analyst who can play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation of a robust financial analytics and data reporting function within the company. In this role, you'll work cross functionally with leaders in finance, IT, sales, marketing, merchandising and operations to collect, analyze, and present data that supports decision-making across the organization. Responsibilities include:
Partner with departments across the organization (finance, IT, sales, marketing, merchandising and operations) to gather, analyze, interpret and report on data
Support department leadership reporting and data analytics requirements; participate in cross functional department staff meetings or leadership meetings as needed
Translate financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights that support department leaders, senior executives and operational teams
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and other reporting tools that provide consistent, repeatable, and timely insights to cross-functional internal and external stakeholders
Develop repeatable processes for ongoing reporting and analysis across multiple departments.

The Child Welfare Development Team seeks an experienced Database Analyst Level IV with expertise in designing and developing Microsoft SQL Server data structures, optimizing interactions with and within the database (SQL, stored procedures, ETL, etc.), in accordance with business, data security and regulatory requirements as well as legislative mandates and court findings.
This work will continue fulfilling the Child Welfare (CW) plan items from previous years and continue to support CW Transformation strategies including data quality initiatives and the emerging transition to data-oriented decision making in CW practice.
Contractors Key Person will also work with various CW program areas and business teams to deliver strategic roadmap components to execute data modernization efforts, fulfill legislative mandates and comply with court findings.
Scope:
Contractors Key Person under this WOC will participate in executing the strategic direction for use of data to support CW programmatic and administrative functions. Contractors Key Person will provide expertise in the planning efforts to identify and modernize the agencys data assets and to develop the future-state technical environment for CW.
Tasks:

Develop database structure and process changes based on specifications established during weekly Sprint planning sessions and following data standards based on existing datatype standards where available and appropriate; address standards published by the United States Postal Service as an example.

The Senior Data and Research Analyst will be responsible for extracting, analyzing, and reporting data from institutional and external databases to help report student success outcomes, such as retention and degree completion rates. This may include conducting modeling, analysis, and interpretation of information, as well as employing data mining or analytics to support decision making related to a wide range of student success projects and questions.
This work will primarily involve collecting, analyzing, visualizing, and reporting quantitative data but may also include reporting and analyzing qualitative data. The Analyst will present and report findings to the Office of Student Success and the broader PSU community regularly, assist in developing assessment plans for student success projects, and analyze project outcomes.
One of the analyst's primary responsibilities will be developing and maintaining Tableau dashboards used by both faculty and staff from various units across campus to explore and track key performance indicators and student success metrics.
