This is not your parent's internship program - you won't be getting coffee. Instead, you'll be an active member of our project team, working side-by-side with recognized industry experts to: Assist with the collection and organization of compliance evidence, review and help update critical security policies and documentation, support the team in conducting gap analyses against CMMC controls, and attend planning meetings, ask questions, and bring your ideas to the table.
Our interns have the unique experience of getting both mentoring and coaching on real-world assignments directly related to their field of study. You'll have the opportunity to learn fundamental business processes, build your technical foundation in cybersecurity and risk management, and participate in an in-depth program that includes cross-functional workshops and meetings with leadership. This is a paid, 10-12 week summer internship starting in late May/early June, working an average of 40 hours a week. Based on performance, you may be considered for a full-time position upon graduation.

As our Compliance Advisory Intern, you will play a crucial role in a high-priority initiative: preparing our organization for the mandatory Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) audit.
This is not your parent's internship program - you won't be getting coffee. Instead, you'll be an active member of our project team, working side-by-side with recognized industry experts to: Assist with the collection and organization of compliance evidence, review and help update critical security policies and documentation, support the team in conducting gap analyses against CMMC controls, and attend planning meetings, ask questions, and bring your ideas to the table.
Our interns have the unique experience of getting both mentoring and coaching on real-world assignments directly related to their field of study. You'll have the opportunity to learn fundamental business processes, build your technical foundation in cybersecurity and risk management, and participate in an in-depth program that includes cross-functional workshops and meetings with leadership. Bring your knowledge and desire to learn, and we will provide the experience.
This is a paid, 10-12 week summer internship starting in late May/early June, working an average of 40 hours a week. Based on performance, you may be considered for a full-time position upon graduation.As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Must be a Sophomore, Junior or Senior in college or technical school, with at least 6 months until graduation after end of internship
The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Contribute to the development and improvement of compliance documentation for audits, assessments, and certifications.
Aid in preparing for internal and external assessments, including mock assessments and readiness reviews
Contribute to the development and implementation of a unified CMMC and DFARS compliance strategy
Support the creation and delivery of training programs to educate employees on DFARS and CMMC requirements
Participate in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Federal Contract Information (FCI).
Help in maintaining the System Security Plan (SSP) to ensure it meets NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC requirements
Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
Strong organization skills and work ethic; detail oriented
Qualifications We Prefer:
Familiarity with cybersecurity compliance frameworks, particularly NIST 800-171, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), or CMMC
Relevant coursework in IT auditing, network security, or cybersecurity policy
Previous internship experience in an IT, cybersecurity, or another technical role
Progress towards or completion of an entry-level industry certification, such as the CompTIA Security+
Active participation or a leadership role in a technology or cybersecurity-focused student organization

PNNL is seeking Undergraduate students for assignments within the National Security Internship Program (NSIP). The AI and Data Analytics Division is looking for individuals who have a passion for solving critical national challenges using advanced computational, statistical, and mathematical techniques.
