Adventurous Minds Program provides opportunities to people with high physical, behavioral, and medical needs to interact in the community and meet new people/peers. The Vocational DirectSupportProfessional provides community supports to these individuals to become a bigger part of their own choices and physical assistance similar to CNA work. The DSP strives to assure the health and safety of persons served while also encouraging them to take reasonable risks to foster growth and independence. The DSP participates in person-centered planning and assists individuals in achieving their goals! There are complex duties depending on the behavioral, medical, and personal care needs of the individuals served. The DSP takes the lead role in coordinating higher quality of life experiences for the individuals they serve in the program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-As a DirectSupportProfessional (DSP), you will provide compassionate care helping support individuals with disabilities live fuller lives. Working on helping them reach goals with activities of daily living, social independence, and being a part of their community. To thrive in this role, you must be passionate about helping people with disabilities and comfortable with providing personal care when needed.
-Listen attentively and take general interest in assisting people with enjoying meals, maintain personal hygiene, and learning their routines.
-Support individuals in assisting them with making and maintaining relationships with friends, family, and their loved ones. Assisting with making phone calls, setting up get-togethers, and regular interactions. Must be able to drive and have valid drivers license.
-Assist with medical needs, including monitoring health, administering medications, and daily documentation. Strive provides training with QMAP Qualification, CPR, and Vital Signs for maintaining individuals' health and well-being.
-Assist with transporting and getting individuals out into the community, for work and recreational experiences.
-Collaborate with Co-workers and supervisor in maintaining a positive and safe program/work environment.

Position Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Teach youth being served social, behavioral, relational, and daily living skills, according to their treatment plans through a safe and supportive environment.
2. Attend to and advocate for the youth's needs (i.e., academic, recreational, community activities, behavioral and personal material needs) Manage challenging behaviors through established training.
3. Communicate regularly and effectively with supervisor, parents, guardians, case managers and all other individuals involved with the youth.
4. Responsible for supports and assistance with personal care as needed.
5. Follow all safety procedures and agency policies.
6. Maintain professional boundaries while establishing a trustworthy and beneficial relationship.
7. Observe and record individuals' progress through narrative reports submitting by agency deadline.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing person centered services and supports for intellectual and developmentally disabled adults. The primary responsibility will be to provide direct supervision to the clients in activities and assist the clients in building the skills necessary to live as independently as possible in their community.

4. Review and become familiar with client specific protocols, services and supports, and individual support plans. Gather supplies, equipment, medications, and materials for engaging in person-centered services and supports in a meaningful way.
5. Complete required documentation daily.
6. Manage challenging behaviors through established training.
7. Communicate effectively and efficiently with other team members, leads, supervisors, manager, and other agency administration as needed.
8. Actively participate in supervision, training, community, team and service plan meetings, as directed.
9. Follow all safety procedures and agency policies.
10. Maintain professional boundaries while establishing a trustworthy and beneficial relationship.
11. Represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
