About the role:
The position of Director Global Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) plays a key role in the company's finance function to drive profitable growth in the business. About this Position
We are searching for a visionary, strategic thinking, Director of Finance and Operations operating from an abundance mindset. The Director of Finance and Operations will be a member of the leadership team, and reports directly to the Executive Director.
Position Summary
The Director of Finance and Operations serves as a key member of Blue Sky Bridge's leadership team, responsible for leading the organization's financial management, human resources, and select operational functions. This position oversees all accounting, budgeting, and reporting activities and ensures strong internal controls, compliance, and stewardship of resources in support of the organization's mission.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on operator - someone who thrives in both the details of daily accounting and in shaping long-term financial strategy. This leader will help unify systems, strengthen organizational processes, and play an integral role in building the infrastructure for Blue Sky Bridge's next phase of growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership and Strategy
Serve as the senior financial leader and advisor to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
Oversee all accounting and finance operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and monthly close.
Manage all federal, state, and local government grants, ensuring proper allocation of staff time and expenses, strict adherence to compliance and reporting requirements, and timely submission of financial reports and reimbursement requests.
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process; partner with department heads to align budgets with organizational priorities.
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, management reports, and cash flow projections.
Support the development of a sustainable fundraising and financial strategy in collaboration with the Executive Director and Development team.
Manage the annual audit and ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit financial standards.
Human Resources
Oversee day to day HR functions, including payroll, benefits administration, compliance, in coordination with our external HR and benefits providers, Talent to Team.
Support a culture of trust, inclusion, and accountability through fair and transparent HR practices.
Partner with leadership to align organizational structure, compensation, and professional development with Blue Sky Bridge's mission and values.
Operations and Systems
Lead efforts to integrate financial, HR, and operational systems to improve efficiency, transparency, and cross-department collaboration.
Manage vendor and contract processes, ensuring proper review, documentation, and compliance.
Day to day oversight of the organization facilities.
Contribute to risk management, insurance, and operational policy development.
Identify and implement process improvements and internal control enhancements across departments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
Experience in nonprofit financial management, including restricted funds, grant reporting, and compliance.
Working knowledge of HR best practices and Colorado employment laws; prior HR oversight experience preferred.
Strong systems acumen - proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft/Google Workspace, and HRIS platforms.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

The position focuses on ensuring data accuracy, supporting compliance requirements, and driving process improvements that reduce errors and inefficiencies related to operational finance. This role will be an expert in GL, NetSuite, and the financial flows through the business, being the main point of contact for finance questions.
Responsibilities:
Reporting, Auditing, and Data Analysis (70%)
Monitor financial transactions throughout the month to ensure accuracy and consistency across processes
Identify errors or irregularities proactively, recommend immediate corrections, and implement process improvements to prevent recurrence
Provide tax compliance support, including Canada GST filings and responding to requests from the tax team
Assist with audit preparation and external/internal compliance requirements
Contribute to variance analysis and financial reporting to support decision-making
Planning and QA (30%)
Support preparation and submission of financial reporting deliverables to our parent company (e.g., quarterly reporting packages, insurance requests, ad hoc compliance needs)

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in accounting required
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
Knowledge of US GAAP and financial control processes
Experience supporting tax compliance and/or indirect tax (e.g., sales/use, GST) preferred
Experience with intercompany reporting and multi-entity business structures preferred
Background in consumer goods, apparel, or retail/wholesale industries preferred
NetSuite experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to identify process issues, propose solutions, and implement improvements.
