Busser/Food Runners provide support for the Servers. Your main tasks are to clear dirty dishes from tables, reset tables for the next Customers and take food from the Kitchen to the tables when the bell rings. You help the Servers provide great service. Inbetween those tasks, you are also expected to do sidework - fill water jugs, polish silverware, roll ups, keep supplies stocked, taking dirty dishes to dish room, restock beverages and other tasks as needed. You are expected to work quickly and efficiently, but also making sure you are completely tasks correctly. Cleanliness is very important for the Restaurant and for yourself. While you are not the direct point of contact for Customers, you are still to be polite and courteous. If you are asked a question that you can't answer, just let them know you will find out or send a Server over. Once these tasks are mastered, you will be given more tasks - answering the phone, entering takeout orders, packing takeout orders, checking out Customers when they pick up their takeout food, taking reservations, and more.
