The Navy relies on exceptional medical personnel to keep our servicemen and women healthy. As a Hospital Corpsman, youll get to try your hand at just about everything while making a huge difference for the Sailors you serve.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Hospital Corpsmen (HM) assist health care professionals in providing medical care to Navy personnel and their families. They may function as clinical or specialty technicians, medical administrative personnel and healthcare providers at medical treatment facilities. Specifically, Hospital Corpsmen may be called upon to:
Perform emergency medical treatment on SEALs, Seabees, Marines and other military personnel injured in the field, as well as on Sailors aboard ships or aircraft
Perform emergency dental treatment as well as construct dental crowns and bridges, process
dental X-rays and operate X-ray equipment
Serve as an operating room technician for general and specialized surgery
Help administer a wide range of preventive care and medications, including immunizations and intravenous fluids
Conduct physical examinations and assisting in the treatment of diseases and injuries
Maintain patient treatment records, conduct research and perform clinical tests
Assist Navy Physicians and Nurses in a variety of medical fields, including, but not limited to: radiology, physical therapy, phlebotomy, dental, surgery, family medicine, pathology, womens health and more

MainStreet Family Care is growing and we're looking to hire a fast, fun and friendly Floating MedicalAssistant to work in multiple clinics in Swansboro and Wilmington cities! Our MedicalAssistants provide a great service to our patients, providing them with excellent care. Services provided to the public include urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal applicant will be able to assist the onsite provider with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge. Flexibility is a must!
Responsibilities:
Clinical
Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
Take patient histories and vital signs
Prepare patient for examination and treatment
Dispense medication as directed
Instruct and educate patients about discharge instructions if applicable
Provide solutions to patient concerns within the scope of position
Clerical
Provide accurate and timely documentation to staff, insurance carriers and companies
Correspondence by phone, in person, or in writing regarding patient care, i.e. insurance carriers, physicians, non-clinic physicians
Maintain patient records for clinical use, medical records use, billing use, physicians' review, etc.
Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments
Complete opening and closing procedures
Other Duties
Maintain disposable and non-disposable supplies, i.e. wound care supplies, laundry, etc.
Annual training as needed
Help produce and maintain patient education instruction hand-outs
Maintain clean, professional working/treatment area
Accept and assume responsibility for special projects as they arise
All other duties as assigned
Rotating Schedule:
Clinic staff will be split into two shifts: Shift A and Shift B. Each shift will work on a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend, sample below:

Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
KidsStreet Clinic Hours (Montgomery, Pelham, Mobile only)

Floating MedicalAssistants are guaranteed 30+ hours per work week, but flexibility for the schedule is a must!

Qualifications:
Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
Prior MedicalAssisting experience or education is beneficial, but not required
