ABOUT MANHATTAN HIGH SCHOOL: Manhattan High School is a 9th through 12th grade high school. The estimated enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is 2,050 students. School begins at 7:40 a.m. and releases at 2:50 p.m. Teachers teach 5 of 7 class periods with an additional Advisory period one day a week. The 2 open periods in a teacher's schedule are dedicated to an hour of planning and an hour dedicated to professional learning time. MHS utilizes a modified block schedule that consists of periods 1-7 being taught Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Wednesday and Thursday are block schedule days. Summary: Keeps the district's school buildings in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interruptions to the educational program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleans and preserves designated spaces campus wide.
Classroom/Office cleaning, sweep/mop/vacuuming of classrooms, trash removal, restroom cleaning, laundry, outside duties-grounds trash pickup, snow/ice removal.
Assists visiting public utilizing the facilities with directions within building and in obtaining and setting up needed equipment for special events.
This could include setting up tables, chairs, tarps, stages and other requested items.
Supervise AM staff and communicate with 2nd and 3rd shift on a daily basis.
Use of Follett/Master Library software to for inventory, maintenance work orders and activity schedules.
Ability to use and maintain cleaning equipment as needed.
Maintain regular attendance.
Train new employees.
Complies with district policies, safety guidelines and chemical handling procedures.
Ability to multi-task, manage shifting priorities, and respond to urgent needs quickly.
Ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of staff, students, contractors and community members.
Overtime as needed for weather events, school activities, or emergencies.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:
Assistant Coaches - Bachelor's Degree is preferred or minimum of 36 college hours or on-line 20 hour substitute training.
The assistant coach will adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations.
The assistant coach will abide by all rules and regulations established by the Poplar Bluff R-I Board of Education.
The assistant coach will abide by and uphold all rules and regulations established by the Missouri State High School Activities Association.
Actively pursue the licensure to drive a school bus suitable for the sport they are coaching.
Performance Responsibilities:
Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
Assist in making plans and scheduling a regular program of practice in season.
Work with the Head Coach and Athletic Director in scheduling interscholastic contests.
Assist in making recommendations to purchase equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate.
Assist in necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
Assist in overseeing the safety conditions of the facility or area where the assigned sport is conducted.
Assist in establishing performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in his/her sport.
Enforces discipline and sportsman-like behavior at all times, and assists in establishing and overseeing penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
Has a good working knowledge of the rules and regulations of the sport he or she is coaching.

Properly condition players that are members of their squad.
Drive a bus to events if properly licensed and a driver can not be secured.
Turn off lights, lock doors, and see that the building and equipment are secure.

* Ensure the financial and overall health of the Community Living department by preparing annual budgets; reviewing financial reports, activities, costs, operations and data; tracking, charting and analyzing data for productive use and quality improvement; maintaining knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, policies, directives and best practices which apply to programs within the Community Living department; ensuring departmental goals are met through community interaction and integration; incorporating CARF standards, Medicaid Waiver, MH and Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) regulations into the day-to-day operations of all departmental programs, managing and maintaining internal quality assurance processes for regulatory compliance; workforce planning; developing and maintaining expertise in programs; designing training requirements in collaboration with the AVP of Community and Employment Services and HR; and ensuring all facets of departmental operations are progressive to foreseeable future standards and guided by CHS' strategic plan, best practices, and mission.
* Increase CHS reach, expansion and growth opportunities by increasing the number of Community Living programs and the number of individuals served in them; actively seeking expansion and growth opportunities; participating in community organizations, professional associations, advocacy groups, and task forces for opportunities to assess state and community needs and identify service opportunities; and championing CHS to families, funding sources, and communities.
