Ensure purchase order confirmations are received for all purchase orders. Expedite / De-expedite orders to meet changing needs in delivery requirements. Act as liaison between Supplier and company. Responsible for disposition and return/disposal of Non-conforming Purchase Parts under buyer code. Monitor supplier pricing changes and coordinate with Commodity Manager / Global Sourcing to minimize cost impact. Work with Supplier to help schedule and prioritize jobs as needed. Stay aware of Supplier's available capacity and move jobs to secondary suppliers as needed to hit required dates. Work with suppliers and Global Sourcing to shift work between suppliers if necessary. Help address Supplier deviations. Monitor and recommend changes to safety stock, minimum order quantities, and lot size order by part or commodity. Responsible for timely distribution and research necessary, with follow-through for all Change Orders received, and Add/delete reactions. Expected to provide cost impact and inventory impact of Add/Deletes, as well as recommendations for disposal, and back-up for proper scrap disbursement. Understand and use Inventory, Manufacturing, Engineering and Financial systems. Aid in achieving cost savings targets while meeting inventory turn requirements. Uses multiple systems including purchasing software (E3), processing software (Real Steel), and ERP system (SD1) to maintain product records, process work orders, and manage all processes involved with Sentriclad supply chain management. Manages the metal painting process by coordinating inbound material to metal coaters, issuing paint orders to maximize paint runs and cost efficiency, completing cost accounting and arranging transportation outboard to our metal processing sites. Primary Responsibilities: Assist in development of sourcing strategies for assigned categories Assist in the identification, selection, qualification, and onboarding of new suppliers Monitor external factors that influence materials/services pricing and availability Analyze Category Spend and identify opportunities Deliver savings, process improvements and improved commercial terms Ability to quickly analyze, validate, and manage large amounts of data, for problem solving, project and decision support, and trend analysis Create RFQ packages and distribute to Suppliers Act as escalation point for delivery and pricing issues Complete vetting of all new Suppliers and ensure correct creation of Supplier within ERP and maintain document storage Understand and use Inventory, Manufacturing, Engineering and Financial systems, within ERP Support an environment that fosters teamwork, flexibility and change Act as business liaison between Suppliers and Belvac Assure Supplier visits and all associated contacts within the company, as related to the Purchasing function, are within the scope of professional business, and within the Belvac Ethics Policy, as defined Skills and Abilities: Initiative: Identify what needs to be done & complete before being asked Problem Solving: Identify problems and use good judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations Critical Thinking Skills: Analyze, draw conclusions & makes recommendations based on data Attention to Detail: Complete tasks with a concern for all the details involved; monitor and check work to meet high standards.
