The President of the Alumnae Association, Louise Kemp, 1925, is welcomed as the first alumna representative to the Board of Trustees.
RPCS celebrates the retirement of Jean Waller Brune, 1960 after 24 years of service as Head of School.
Celeste Woodward Applefeld, 1964 becomes the second female President of the Board of Trustees and the first alumna to hold this position.
Fire breaks out in the new Upper School wing, built in 1968, during Thanksgiving vacation.
In 1975, Gordon K. Lenci became the school's first male headmaster when Healy retired.
During her tenure, the school moved to 817 W. University Parkway, the former Greenway estate, where it remained until 1976, when a fire broke out in a wing of the school during Thanksgiving weekend.
After the 1976 fire, the board of trustees purchased the 21-acre Chestnutwood estate.
He was succeeded in 1983 by Margaret E. Smith, who forged an academic alliance for upper school students with RPCS' nearby neighbors, Gilman and Bryn Mawr schools.
By 1991, the coordinated classes expanded to include English, history, math, and advanced sciences.
Since 1992, the school has been headed by Jean Waller Brune, who is the first RPCS alumnus to serve as headmistress.
