Santo Domingo company history timeline

1954

And on the 4th of October 2012, the Santo Doming Church and its collection of artifacts, including the Nuestra Señora del Santísimo Rosario de La Naval de Manila, was declared a National Cultural Treasure. It is noted that the Santo Doming Church was not 100% complete upon its blessing on the 10th of October 1954, and more features and artworks have been added to the church since then.

1957

To celebrate the occasion, Rafael del Casal (born 1957) painted the large murals of “The Sixteen Martyrs of Japan” and “San Lorenzo Ruiz the Martyrs of Japan”, which are now hung at the side of the altar.

1958

In 1958, the retablo was restored through private philanthropy.

1960

In his seminal work of the mid 1960's,The Rise of the West, William H. McNeill established one of the central principles of the modern world history movement.

1980

2007

On the 29th of September 2007, Museo de Santo Domingo opened at the northwest wing of the Santo Domingo Convent, with its exhibition of the memorabilia from the Santo Domingo Church in Intramuros.

2017

In 2017, the Café Inggô 1587 opened at the ground floor of the southwest wing of the San Pio V Building.
