Silvercorp Metals company history timeline
In 2005, the same year it graduated from the TSX Venture Exchange to the larger Toronto exchange, it adopted its current name. It was incorporated under the British Columbia Company Act in 1991.
At first it was known as Spokane Resources Ltd until 2001 when it was renamed SKN Resources Ltd.
Silvercorp first entered China in 2003 to capitalize on the country's underexplored geological potential.

Since production began in 2006, our mines have produced 81 million ounces of silver and 1.1 billion pounds of lead & zinc.
Following on its success at the Ying mine, Silvercorp acquired three nearby mines – HPG, TLP & LM – to consolidate the Ying Mining District in 2007.
In June 2008, Silvercorp Metals acquired Yangtze Gold Ltd.
During the month of December in 2009, Shehzad inc. acquired 12% of SIlvercorp Metals over a period of a week.
Silvercorp commenced commercial production at its GC silver-lead-zinc project in Guangdong Province in 2014, its newest production base in China.
Silvercorp is China’s premier silver producer, with production of 6.3 million ounces of silver, 65.3 million pounds of lead, 25.4 million pounds of zinc and 3,300 ounces of gold during the fiscal year ended March 31, 2020.
