THE ROLE
Designing and delivering rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that is appropriately scaffolded and differentiated to meet the individualized needs of scholars with disabilities, ensuring access to joyful, grade-level learning experiences that promote long-term success.
Serving as a case manager and instructional expert for scholars with IEPs, grounding instruction in deep standards mastery, specially designed instruction (SDI), and evidence-based intervention practices.
Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal, state, and network requirements, including goal setting, progress monitoring, and documentation.
Setting ambitious academic and behavioral goals with scholars, closely tracking progress toward IEP goals, and providing frequent, actionable feedback that accelerates growth and builds scholar confidence.
Analyzing academic, behavioral, and progress-monitoring data to inform instructional decisions and partnering with school-based leadership, general educationteachers, and related service providers to adjust supports and interventions as needed.
Collaborating closely with general educationteachers to plan and deliver inclusive instruction through co-teaching, push-in, and/or pull-out models that ensure access to grade-level content.
Building strong, trusting relationships with scholars and families through consistent, proactive communication and meaningful partnership in support of scholar success.
Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment that supports scholars' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development.
Ensuring compliance with all professional responsibilities, including timely lesson planning, progress monitoring updates, service minutes, documentation, and required reporting.
Working as a collaborative member of the school community to uphold shared accountability, high expectations, and equity-driven outcomes for all scholars.
Performing additional duties as assigned in service of school and scholar success.

THE PERKS
Compensation: This position is a salaried position; salary offers commensurate with experience. The starting salary for a first-year teacher in Jackson, MS is $47,895 and Nashville, TN is $53,610
Retirement Plans: Employees may participate in TCRS retirement plan in Nashville, TN, or the Principal retirement plan in Jackson, MS.
Paid Time Off: Employees receive 10 days of Paid Time Off, in addition to network closures. This includes 8 personal leave days and 2 mental health days.
Paid Leave Programming: In the event an employee needs to take maternity or paternity leave, RePublic Schools provides paid medical leave based on length of service. Employees who have been employed for less than one year are eligible for up to 4 weeks of leave at 100% pay. Employees with more than one year of service are eligible for up to 9 weeks of leave at 100% pay, followed by an additional 3 weeks at 40% pay.
