The UC Master Gardener Program is an educational program under UC ANR designed to teach and effectively extend information that addresses gardening needs in communities throughout the state of California and addresses the strategic initiatives of UC ANR. Since 1981, the UC Master Gardener Program has been extending UC Research-based information about home horticulture and pest management to the public. UC trained and certified Master Gardener volunteers offer services and outreach to the general public in 53 California counties through local UCCE offices. Last year 6,216 active UC Master Gardener volunteers donated 395,239 hours, and 7.7+ million hours have been donated since the program's inception.
Position Summary:
This position will enhance UC Master Gardener Program effectiveness through the development and management of in person and online trainings. Responsibilities include project management and oversight of statewide trainings, including online webinars, new coordinator and advisor onboarding, regional/statewide advanced training, triennial statewide conference, as well as training assets such as expert speaker database, hands-on activities to support eLearning, creation of toolkits, in-person instruction materials/support, and ongoing communication/relationship building with subject matter experts.
This position will work closely with the eLearning Specialist who will serve as lead for the Training Specialist. Working together, this team will ensure the effective integration of eLearning instruction into the program's training framework. They will spearhead the creation and execution of annual training plans, contributing to 5-year and strategic planning efforts pertaining to programmatic training and related support requirements.
They will inform the training budget for the statewide program, requiring financial stewardship to optimize resources while meeting training objectives effectively. Where possible, they will pursue funding and partnership opportunities to expand on existing and future training opportunities.
This position will nurture collaborative relationships within the UC Master Gardener statewide team and throughout the program community. This position is expected to be a subject matter expert in training methodologies and adult learning. They will engage with subject matter experts in horticulture, community engagement, volunteer engagement, IPM, and other program related fields.
This position is a career appointment that is 100% fixed.
The home department for this position is the Statewide Master Gardener Program. While this position normally is based in Davis, CA, this position is eligible for hybrid flexible work arrangements for applicants living in the State of California at this time. Please note that hybrid flexible work arrangements are subject to change by the University.
Pay Scale: $66,500.00 /year to $92,400.00/year

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field and / or equivalent experience / training

About the Role: CAIR-SV/CC is looking for a passionate and talented individual to fill the Senior Development Coordinator position. The Senior Development Coordinator is responsible for a wide range of duties including event planning, CRM database management, donation tracking/reporting, and donor recognition and memberships. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing landscape of priorities and responsibilities and be able to work independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Executive team leadership in scheduling, coordinating commitments and operational planning
Facilitate progress on outstanding deliverables, operational goals, and special projects with department heads and managers.
Format information for internal and external communication - memos, emails, presentations, and reports.
Screen and direct phone calls, text messages, and emails, and distribute correspondence.
Coordinate with Operations Department on income/pledge tracking, campaign and event income updates, and other data analysis as needed
Collaborate on the creation of multi-channel fundraising initiatives through annual fundraising appeals, events, and campaigns (includes digital campaigns, social media, direct mail, crowd funding, and other channels)
Collaborate closely with the Communications team to create campaign assets including fundraising and program material
Support monthly donor program to include maintenance/engagement of existing donors and expansion of new donor and recovering of lapsed donors
Pull queries and data for donation reports and mailing lists and maintain an updated donor database (CRM)
Utilize digital platforms and CRM for text campaigns, specific messages, and campaign data analysis
Secure and coordinate sponsorships for annual banquet and special events/programs
Follow-up with donors to fulfill payment and pledge requests
Maintain donor recognition programs including thank you emails, calls, gifts, and messaging/videos
Coordinate special event logistics such as banquets, Ramadan events, crowdfunding, digital campaigns and private donor events
Coordinate the implementation of the monthly donor program to include maintenance/engagement of existing donors and expansion of new donors with support from the Development Coordinator
All CAIR staff are required to assist in general duties such as answering phones, weekly outreach, fundraising, and other office tasks as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree preferred (Business/Marketing or related field is preferred)
2+ years of development experience, and/or administrative support preferably in a social justice-oriented nonprofit

Must have strong initiative and demonstrate the ability to learn in a self-directed manner

Qualifications
Education and Experience
RN/LVN with 2-3 years experience to include one (1) year managed care (utilization management) experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. General knowledge of managed care with emphasis in UM preferred.
Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications
Current California RN/LVN license. Strong knowledge of nursing requirements in a clinical setting. Knowledge of utilization management programs as related to use of pre-set criteria and protocols. Familiarity with business practices and protocols with ability to access data and information using automated systems. Ability to work within an interdisciplinary structure and function independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines. Strong organizational skills required. Effective telephone and computer data entry skills required. Valid California driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance compliant with PHC policy are required to operate a vehicle and travel for company business.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to read and interpret benefit contract specifications. Ability to understand and follow established criteria and protocols used in managed care functions. Ability to formulate ideas and solutions into appropriate questions and assess/interpret the verbal responses. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, members, their families, physicians, and health care providers.
Work Environment And Physical Demands
Daily use of telephone and computer for most of the day. Cubicle work station. Ability to use a computer keyboard. Must be able to lift, move, or carry objects of varying size, weighing up to 10 lbs.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
Primary contact for nursing and supportive services staff education.
