Job Summary:
The Student Assistant/Peer Support provides support to students requiring mental health, accommodation, and basic needs assistance by creating a safe space for discussion, approaching students in need, and referring them to appropriate resources. Key Responsibilities:
Create an environment of safety for students to engage in discussion around mental health issues, disability and accessibility concerns, and basic needs.
Provide introductory workshops and tabling and campus events representing wellness and providing information on mental health, disability and accessibility, basic needs, and wellness services.
Assist with the creation, distribution, and timely maintenance of flyers, social media posting, and marketing materials for Wellness Services.
Follow guidelines and trainings provided by Wellness Services and Disability and Accessibility Services.
Maintain confidentiality of all student-related information and comply with FERPA regulations.
Attend weekly supervision meetings with the licensed clinical supervisor and/or designee.
Be punctual and appropriately dressed for all scheduled shifts and assignments.
Report any risk factors, such as disclosures of suicide, self-harm, harm to others, child abuse, or elder abuse, to an immediate supervisor, designee, or staff person.

Position Summary
The Student Assistant plays a key role in promoting and implementing Transportation Solutions (TS) programs that make sustainable commuting easier, more affordable, and more accessible for the SJSU community. In this position, the Student Assistant serves as the first point of contact for students and community members who visit the front desk, call, or email. As the face of our department, this role helps create a welcoming and professional first impression while assisting commuters with their transportation needs. The Student Assistant contributes to the creation of marketing/informational/wayfinding materials, responds to student inquiries, provides personalized trip-planning support, supports data analysis for transit programs, and engages the campus community through creative outreach activities.
Collaboration is key in this role. About the role!

Councilmember-Elect Anthony Tordillos of District 3 Council Office is recruiting for a part-time Student Intern position. Are you passionate about making a difference in the community and interested in getting hands-on experience in policy development and communications? The Office of District 3 Councilmember Anthony Tordillos is seeking college student for a paid internship to support the office's policy, community, and outreach work. Interns will have the opportunity to gain direct experience in all facets of local government, from supporting the creation of new legislation and developing communications materials to leading on constituent casework. The internship will be 15-19 hours per week (with flexibility to accommodate class schedules); the internship period is for 4 months, with the option to extend as agreed by the office and the intern.
Positions in these unclassified civil service classifications are appointed "at will" with no property right to continued employment. Each appointment is for a specified period-of-time to be determined by the appointing Councilmember and does not extend past the end of the elected official's or appointing authority's term. Assignments may be on a project basis and/or as needed basis and will not be on predetermined employment time/term limitations.

The council intern will work closely with the office's Legislative, Communications, and Community Relations Directors to support the councilmember's work in the community and on the city council. Among other things, the intern will:
* Conduct policy research to support the councilmember's legislative priorities and draft well-written reports and memos summarizing findings
* Assist in the creation of social media content, physical materials, and the biweekly newsletter
* Staff the councilmember at meetings and support the planning and execution of District 3 community events and town halls
* Lead on constituent casework by working with city staff, community organizations, and government agencies to address resident concerns
* Attend meetings on behalf of the office with neighborhood associations and local agencies, take notes, and provide updates on any necessary follow-up.

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director of Culinary Services and Hospitality and following established procedures, performs a Culinary Academy Teaching Assistant function. Job performance contributes to the achievement of the Kneaded Culinary Academy's goals. Performance of the typical responsibilities and duties requires the ability to perform the job duties, involving job-related matters generally of limited complexity.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:
Assists with gathering equipment and ingredients for Culinary Academy classes. Loads equipment and ingredients before classes and unloads equipment and ingredients after classes.
Assists with set-up and breakdown of tables, mobile kitchens, canopies, and other equipment needed to facilitate Culinary Academy classes.
Maintains clean, safe kitchen(s), dining room(s). Including, but not limited to, cleaning tables & chairs, restocking supplies, washing dishes, sweeping, and mopping floors.
Assists Culinary team in helping students to develop culinary skills, job readiness skills, and professionalism.
Assists in teaching students of the Culinary Academy, on and off campus, including communicating with candidates, interviewing prospective students, teaching the curriculum, assessing students for program completion, and supporting students after program completion.
Provides direct service and group facilitation for disenfranchised youth and other diverse populations.
Assists with recruiting and enrollment, as needed.
Exercises good judgment, remaining calm and deescalating conflict when appropriate.
Assists in reviewing curriculum, planning lessons, and development of new curriculum as needed.
Assists with Kneaded Bakery and Catering as needed.

Food Handlers card or equivalent sanitation and food safety certification, or ability to obtain certification within 2 months of hire.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Ability to use kitchen equipment daily.
Ability to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to hear sound that may signal a hazardous situation in the kitchen, and ability to understand warnings from other staff regarding dangers in the kitchen.
Ability to sense odors which may signal a hazardous situation in the kitchen.
