Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and discipline employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues including training and performance of employees.
Ensures employees have the information, training, tools and equipment to perform duties while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety goals and objectives.
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to determine requirements and eliminate any barriers that may affect the quality and delivery of products.
Ability to interpret and effectively communicate operating procedures, work instructions, company policies and procedures.
Strong organizational and project management skills. Demonstrated experience successfully leading projects resulting in measurable improvements (continual in-process and preventative).
Daily monitors and reviews workflow to ensure productivity schedules are met.
Provides direction to Cell Leaders and Shift Leaders. Plans production schedules, labor and resources to meet production requirements.
Coordinates tooling and supply orders with vendors and purchasing.
Communicates with management about any productivity and quality issues.
Responsible for optimizing program including functionality, techniques, set ups, quality control, programming, tooling, layout, and operations.
Performs quality assurance/control operator spot checks throughout the shift.
Responsible for continuing compliance to calibration requirements in assigned areas.
Responsible for maintaining control of nonconforming products. Notifies proper parties for initial disposition and enter the part(s) as a nonconformance in the ERP/MRP system.
Troubleshoot advanced machine problems including machine crashing.
Provide interpretation and guidance to employees including advanced problem-solving techniques.
Coordinate machine maintenance and repair with maintenance personnel.
Using computer integrated manufacturing application to processes direct labor utilization report, run rate data, efficiency reports, priority dispatch report, part optimization, timecards, and monitors schedules.
Coaches and performs on the job training to direct reports.
Attend leadership team meetings.
Maintains an organized, clean and safe environment and maintains 5 “S” standards.
Complies with safety rules including PPE and OSHA standards.
Coordinates Lean initiatives with management resulting in the elimination of wastes including overproduction, defects, transportation, waiting, inventory, motion and over-processing.
Knowledge of quality at the source techniques, root cause analysis, corrective action, continuous improvement, lean and six sigma.
Required Skills and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 5 years of experience in a combined production and leadership role in the high precision machining industry
Proficient reading, writing, oral communication, and comprehension in English language.
Knowledge and working experience with MS Office, (Word, Excel, Power-Point, Project), CAD/CAM.
Knowledge of computer integrated manufacturing software including accessing and retrieving information using the computer.
Ability to identify and evaluate complex, ambiguous business problems or technical issues and provide well thought out solutions. Proven problem solver who can build consensus and move the team to improvement.
Ability to quickly grasp the complexities of disparate quality issues and assist staff in solving technical issues to effectively meet customer needs.

What's involved in this role:
We are looking for a Production Supervisor in Le Sueur, MN.
Oversee and supervise the daily operations of all production and packaging lines and systems.
Perform the daily tasks of certain Sanitation positions based on the Plant Regulatory reports issued on an as needed basis.
Completion of Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) documents in preparation for audits with daily sign-off if required, providing appropriate information to Quality Assurance as required. Follow-up on any audit items as needed.
Work directly with Supervisor and/or Quality when sanitation issues require immediate attention; redirecting workers to these areas as needed. Provide updates to the Quality Department and Plant or Production Manager as appropriate.

Responsibilities of this position include activities such as hiring, staff development, performance management and evaluation, disciplinary actions, and scheduling. The Patient Care Supervisor manages and evaluates aspects of patient care delivery, including staff resources, productivity, patient safety, and care quality. Will work variable shifts, as needed to complete responsibilities and meet the needs of the patient care unit. This position will assist in identification of goals and has shared responsibility with the Manager and Director for process improvements on the unit/department. Responsible for coordinating daily operations, staffing, and preparations for surgical needs.

Required Qualifications:

Job DescriptionPosition OverviewSupervises employees, and manages print processes in the sheetfed pressroom. SHIFT: 6:00pm - 6:00am, rotating ResponsibilitiesLook ahead to confirm the presses have the materials and information they need to continue on schedule and to avoid any work stoppages.Actively manage issues that are creating delays. Work with other departments when they are involved to resolve issues quickly.Monitor the schedule and accurately document in the Press Supervisor's shift report the reasons a press is not on schedule.Present on the floor at shift change and monitor production and employees during this period. Assist customers, sales, Project Manager's, and press crews to achieve desired color match when necessary. Be present at all customer and/or sales press checks, whenever possible.Provide written feedback to Planning, Customer Service, EPP, etc. regarding improvement opportunities or incorrect information via the Production Job Ticket Issues email group.Inspect for SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) compliance consistently as the rounds are being made throughout the department.Verify that jobs are being produced to all the information supplied along with approving and double checking their work. Verify that maintenance is being done including signing off on maintenance sheets in the Logbooks.Set expectations with your shift for cleanliness and organization in the pressroom.Communicate important issues to the Pressroom Manager. Create a PRESS CALCULATOR email when actual production time has exceeded the budget due to customer or sales directives. (Time spent on press checks with a customer, customer supplied paper claim, etc.) Make sure the operators are also punching properly (remarks codes, notes, PE, or AA, etc.).Complete performance reviews and communicate with team members goals and expectations set throughout the year. Cover Sundays according to the rotation schedule.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION
High school diploma or equivalent.Print trade school and/or 15 years of work experience in the printing industry.Front-line shift or department Supervision experience.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Technical skills - specifically hands on knowledge of KBA and Heidelberg presses.Possess a reasonable level of computer literacy and basic software knowledge.Displays a Servant Leadership style of management.Knowledge of pressroom procedures & documents, and how to find them online.Knowledge of press maintenance expectations Ability to develop new techniques for improving efficiency and productivity.Ability to anticipate problems and implement solutions to avoid them.Ability to communicate and understand written and verbal instructions.Basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Knowledge of company policies and procedures and how to find them online.Model the behavior to create a safe work environment.Knowledge of production materials (stocks, ink, coatings, etc.).Knowledge of G7 / GRACoL color management tools and techniques.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports, to detect production problems.

Job Summary:

Help identify issues and work with Quality and Engineering to drive improvement actions.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
3+ years in manufacturing supervision (assembly/production environment).
Hands-on scheduling and labor planning; ERP/MES proficiency (e.g., job dispatching, transactions, move/close).
High School Diploma or GED.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with others.
Self-starter who has managed processes and people.
Experience with manufacturing, materials, and planning, preferably with an integrated team.
