RESPONSIBILITIES:
Availability to teach a minimum of 5 classes per week (classes are offered early mornings, midday, evenings, weekends, and holidays)
Plan and prepare diligently before each class, including study of choreography and class planning prior to each class
Learn full choreography changes on a quarterly basis

Job Title: Peer Tutor Work Study Department: Student Success Center Reports to: Tutoring and Career Services Coordinator Semester: Spring 2026 Number of Openings: 1 Rate of Pay: $12.00 per hour
Summary: The purpose of this position is to tutor students in various subjects 8-10 hours per week. The length of employment is routinely the academic year (fall and spring terms); however, some work may be performed during the summer as needed.
Essential Job Duties:
* Tutors guide one or more students in understanding a skill or concept utilizing regularly scheduled tutor sessions.
* Generally scheduled during blocks of time in both one-on-one and small-group formats for a maximum of three hours per week per subject.
* It is preferred that students and tutors meet in groups in the SSC at scheduled times. Must notify the SSC Office Associate of absences, cancellations or schedule changes.
* Must be open and flexible to assisting other students who utilize the SSC but are not part of a tutored group.
* Communicate suggestions about Peer Tutor Program improvements, or about any difficulties or problems, to SSC staff or the Director of Retention and Learning Services.
* Refer students who identify a specific need regarding a disability to the Learning Services Specialist.
* If you know of a student needing help in any subject, direct him or her to the SSC to fill out an application to be tutored.
* Must check student e-mail regularly for announcements and communications about tutoring; not less than every other day.
* Must fill out a tutor log for each session and a timesheet by the deadline at the end of each pay period.
Abilities:
Successful completion of a course he/she will be tutoring (passing grade of B or higher), Good Academic Standing (i.e., cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher) is required; however, an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher is preferred. Exceptions to the above require prior approval and are at the discretion of the Director of Retention and Learning Services.
