NATURE OF WORK
Under general supervision, performs a variety of technical and clerical tasks in assisting a teacher. Employee may perform a wide range of tasks in order to support the efforts of the teacher, meet the needs of all students, and ensure the provision of quality instruction for all students. Employee provides one-on-one assistance with academics and behavioral problems and may lead small group activities. Employee assists lead teacher with general housekeeping and clerical duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Teacherassistants must hold one of the following qualifications:
* A 2 year degree
* A minimum of 48 semester hours of college coursework.
* WorkKeys assessments in reading, writing, and math with a bronze passing score (level 3).
Teacherassistants with an effective date of hire 9/1/18 and beyond must hold a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsement or be willing and eligible to obtain a CDL driver's license with P/S endorsements at the next training opportunity. The EC TeacherAssistant supports the program delivery for all students with disabilities in the Exceptional Children's Department. The scheduling of specific job duties are coordinated between the EC teacher and building principal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Observes and monitors students' performance. Collects and documents data to assess progress on students' Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals.
Tutors and supports EC students individually or in small groups across all curricular areas to reinforce learning concepts presented by the teacher.
Coordinates regularly with both the EC and regular education teacher to assist with preparing lessons and adapting instructional materials.
Assists with the implementation of accommodations, behavior plans, and related service delivery in a student's IEP.
Provides assistance with the supervision and transition of EC students in the hallways, classrooms, lunch, and other locations at school.
Supervises students in non-classroom activities such as carpool, lunch, recess, etc.
Assists and monitors EC students during recess, assemblies, emergency drills, and field trips.
Assists with the personal care needs of students with disabilities (feeding, toileting, diapering).
Participates in training related to performing job duties.
Performs related tasks as required or directed by the building principal.

Bus Driver
Drives bus safely to destination and return. Conforms to traffic rules and regulations; makes vehicle pre-checks and records and reports malfunctions; follows school district regulations for handling vehicle breakdowns and accident incidents; and keeps the bus clean.
Follows school district procedures when driving assigned bus routes. Picks up and drops off students at designated times and bus stops; ensures students depart the bus at their usual stops; and determines that all students leave the bus at both ends of the route.
Monitor students' behavior while they are riding on the bus. Take suitable action to resolve incidents between/among students should such incidents occur and report inappropriate student behavior to school authorities as soon as possible.
Safety of Others. Considerable responsibility for the safe transportation of students.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma with additional requirements below.
TeacherAssistant
Minimum of 48 hours of college level coursework. A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required or WorkKeys Certification including Business Writing.
Two years of experience working with children preferred, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job functions.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with parents, schools, community and district office personnel.
Willingness to undergo further training as required.
Experience using the computer.
Bus Driver
Five (5) years of responsible driving experience. Completion of the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles Bus Driver Training Course. Must be able to pass the required DOT Physical examination and have a DOT Drug Screen with negative results. Must be eligible to hold a Commercial Drivers License with Passenger Endorsement.

This teacher position would require you to work within the classroom with your co-teacher and be responsible for carrying out and ensuring that the classroom operates with the highest standards of educational excellence and offers a safe learning environment. You would be responsible for teaching students basic academic, social, and other formative skills at the childcare level, and in accordance with Lightbridge Academy Mission, Vision and Core Values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide consistent, loving care and ensure a secure, stimulating, and clean environment for infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months.
Assist in feeding, diapering, and comforting infants according to their individual schedules and needs.
Build strong, trusting relationships with each infant and their family by ensuring regular communication and sharing developmental progress.
Support the implementation of age-appropriate curriculum activities that promote sensory exploration, motor skills, and social-emotional bonding.
Help maintain accurate daily records of infant care routines (feeding, diapering, napping) and developmental milestones.
Observe and respond to each child's needs with patience and attentiveness, while ensuring close supervision at all times.
Follow safe sleep practices and adhere to all health and safety regulations and protocols.
Practice and model positive guidance, gentle redirection, and responsive caregiving.
Keep the classroom clean, sanitized, and organized to meet state licensing standards.
Communicate professionally and positively with co-teachers, administrators, and families.
