This infrastructure includes equipment such as electric motors, compressors, hydraulic systems, refrigeration systems, heaters, dryers, power systems, measurement and data acquisition systems, control systems, and more. We do not design or conduct analysis of the vehicles; we design, operate, and maintain the systems which enable ground test of models and subassemblies to provide our customers with the data they need to make decisions on design and flight-worthiness. The Beyond New Horizons internship program offers 10-12 week full-time summer opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in various engineering and computer science related disciplines. As part of the internship, you are paired with experienced engineers and scientists who serve as your mentor(s) in completing real engineering or technical work gaining valuable experience in your field of study while contributing to Air Force and contractor missions. You will be required to present a briefing to management demonstrating what you learned and accomplished throughout the summer. Our internship is structured such that you are assigned multiple tasks to complete throughout the summer to provide exposure to the variety of types of work assignments available here at AEDC. These are real engineering/technical assignments that need to be completed, not busy work to keep you occupied.
