The Role We Want You For
The Senior Project Manager will be based on the construction project site and will be responsible for taking projects from conceptual stages through closeout. Provide leadership, technical direction, and deliver the best solutions on design-build projects valued anywhere from a $60 million to over $250 million. At Clayco, a Senior Project Manager is responsible for assisting with preconstruction, buying out contracts, and managing the project from start to finish.
The Specifics of the Role
Build client and subcontractor relationships.
Team with Architects, Engineers, and Planners to create and manage a design schedule.
Establish project forecasts and budgets.
Manage costs.
Accept full responsibility for project execution.
Mentor and develop project management staff.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related.
10-15 years of experience managing construction projects ($50+ million) ideally design-build.
Strong project safety record and commitment to safety and quality.
Previous experience with set-up, budget planning, buyout, and cost reporting.
Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, and technology.
Previous experience leading a successful project management team.
Creative and results-oriented with a sense of urgency.
Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding.
Ability to lift objects at least 50lbs.

Join our team as a Senior Project Manager where you will be responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome for several small to medium projects or one very large project. You will lead and manage a team of project managers, and assistant project managers to deliver exceptional results for our clients. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policies. Put these in clear concise work statement for the field.
Effectively supervise a staff in the day to day administration of a job or supervise two or more Project Managers in their daily tasks.
Train and effectively supervise Project Managers in the company philosophy and systems
Negotiate and supervise the preparation of all change orders on the project
Maintain all logs required to track the progress of the project.
Train and effectively supervise a Project Assistant in the maintenance of project required tracking devices.
Maintain liaison with prime client and A/E to facilitate construction activities.
Monitor construction activities in conjunction with the onsite Foreman and Area Superintendent to ensure project is being built on schedule, and within budgets
Investigate any potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures within company guidelines, and under supervision
Represent company/project in meetings with client, subcontractors, etc.
Prepare monthly costing reports
Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the client

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or other related discipline preferred.
PE license a plus
Minimum 10+ years of experience in project management, preferably in electrical construction. Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment and methods required.
Can be a combination of education, training and relevant experience
Proven experience mentoring and managing others.
Business development/heavy client interaction a plus.
Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures;
Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance
Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedure

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager that will manage projects and project teams successfully from qualification, through estimate, pre-construction, mobilization, execution, and closeout. In collaboration with the Superintendent and field team, this role is responsible for ensuring all project and contractual agreements are met and performed safely and professionally within established budgets and timeframes. You will play a key role in establishing team member roles and responsibilities and taking the lead in defining the structure and communication expectations to ensure efficient work and progression.
**_Scope:_** Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).

In addition, this position will be responsible for the following:
+ Management of the technology consulting process between JE Dunn and client/owner's consultants and contractors.
+ Initiating business development activities to grow the Aptitude contribution to the organization.
+ Participate and support JE Dunn project pursuit activities to maximize the value-added benefits of Aptitude to customers (internal and external).
+ Identify and develop new technologies that support the Smart Building offering of Aptitude.
+ Facilitate internal and external training to generate awareness of the Aptitude offering .
+ Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
+ Engage local civic organizations and municipality activities to establish the Aptitude offering as a differentiator that supports JE Dunn as an industry leader
+ Assist in maintaining and growing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.

**Education**

**Working Environment**

Qualifications
