VOAC recognizes the unique needs of the older adult who needs a wheelchair ramp to stay at home safely, and the preschooler whose family needs additional resources. VOAC supports veteran's efforts to exit homelessness as well as provides a safe place for survivors of domestic violence. Wherever VOAC goes, it combines relationship-building, volunteers and quality services to lift and support our neighbor's efforts to become self-sufficient and reach their full potential.
The Volunteer Specialist is responsible for recruiting, orienting and engaging individual volunteers and volunteer groups in Volunteers of America (VOA) Colorado's Southwest Colorado programs. This position will also be responsible for the intake, organization, and record keeping of the Volunteer Services Program volunteers, including youth, family, adults and groups. and reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Recruit, select, orient, and place individual and group volunteers in VOA Colorado programs throughout Southwest Colorado.
* Coordinate application processes, background checks, safety/confidentiality training, and Safehouse orientation for all volunteers.
* Lead and supervise volunteer-led activities for shelter guests, including maintenance, meal prep, and donation sorting.
* Maintain accurate volunteer data, including hours served, in compliance with legal and regulatory standards, using Salesforce.
* Develop relationships with local businesses, civic groups, faith communities, and schools to build a pipeline of engaged volunteers.
* Coordinate house and yard maintenance projects, and manage the service calendar involving providers, vendors, groups, and volunteers.
* Assist with grant reporting related to volunteer contributions and impact.
* Represent VOA Colorado in regional volunteer networks and community events to amplify program awareness and engagement.
Supervisory Responsibilities
* Directly supervises individual and group volunteers, ensuring clarity of roles, safety, and meaningful engagement.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
* Requires lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds. Driving short distances is required.

Duties and Expectations:

Supervision:
Provide direct oversight, leadership, supervision, and guidance to the State-wide Pheasants Forever Biologist Team, ensuring effective conservation delivery and coordination within their counties or areas of responsibility.
Work closely with field practitioners and partner staff to educate them on the proper implementation and utilization of wildlife conservation programs and practices.
Provide cost-share program, habitat restoration and management training to conservation planners on wildlife habitat.

Work closely with Asst State Conservationist for Partnerships, SRC, NRCS State Biologist, and the State Conservationist to provide insight and input related to programs standards and specifications specifically focused on wildlife conservation, assisting with the development and review/update of wildlife related program standards and specifications and enhancements. Through the direction of the State Resource Conservationist and NRCS State Biologist , assist in Quality Assurance Reviews and spot checks on wildlife focused practices.
Develop strong relationships with conservation partners in Colorado, including but not limited to NRCS, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), US Fish and Wildlife Service Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program, Ducks Unlimited, Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, Conservation Districts, and several other conservation organizations in Colorado
Develop strong working relationships with NRCS Field Office Staff, NRCS Area Office staff, NRCS State Office staff and ensuring regular communication between PF and all these levels of NRCS to ensure a common understanding of expectations for biologists hired through this partnership.

Work with PF/QF West Regional Director, Colorado Regional Representative, NRCS State Conservationist and NRCS Staff, CPW staff, and Pheasants Forever Inc. & Quail Forever Marketing Team to provide information focused on promoting in-state strategic conservation efforts (Working Lands for Wildlife, Corners Program, Targeted EQIP projects) to media sources in Colorado.
Work with PF staff to compile success stories, collect photos and videos that highlight the partnerships impact on the landscape, and work with PF marketing and outreach staff to publish stories highlighting this partnership.
Develop relationships with partners to amplify success stories through all partners media outlets as partners see fit. This may include but is not limited to NRCS, CPW, and Joint Venture outreach staff and media outlets.
Participate in State Technical Advisory Committee meetings.
Program Oversight and Development:
The State Coordinator will work with partners to develop relationships and form partnerships that will work together to address conservation priorities of multiple organizations to leverage technical and financial resources to make the greatest impact to the conservation priority.
Coordinate and lead new and existing landscape level habitat initiatives and partnerships that advance NRCS, PF, and CPW missions in Colorado. Examples include the Corners for Conservation Program, initiative to re-enroll expiring CRP, CO Upland Bird SAFE, LPCI, Sage Grouse, Cutthroat Trout, SW Willow Flycatcher Initiatives, and others.
Identify opportunities (grants or groups) that will enhance strategic implementation of conservation. Pursue granting opportunities as they become available. Examples include National Fish and Wildlife Foundation grants, Regional Conservation Partnership Grants, and several others.
Working with the State Conservationist and the Area Conservationists, participate in the identification of strategic locations for wildlife staffing.
Reporting and Administration:
Monitor the progress of the Colorado PF Biologist Team in the delivery of strategic conservation initiatives, keeping partners aware of timelines and milestones.
Prepare high quality quarterly written performance reports and a full year summary report to share with all partners describing the accomplishments of this partnerships.
Write grant proposals, draft agreements, and complete other administrative tasks related to the implementation of conservation programs and ensuring funding is secured for PF staff located in Colorado.
Work with PF Grants and Accounting Team to provide financial reports to all partners engaged in our biologist program and all other conservation programs administered through PF in Colorado.
Expected experience and skills include:

The Autoimmunity Screening for Kids (ASK) program is part of the Clinical Epidemiology Division and is led by Dr. Marian Rewers. The aim is to screen 50,000 children with the long-term goal of providing strong evidence for universal screening of these autoimmune diseases as part of standard of care. ASK is seeking a full-time bilingual Research Services Professional. CSU Spur is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Education Team as a CSU Spur Education Virtual Programs Support Facilitator. This individual will be part of a team delivering programs at the CSU Spur campus in Denver that inspire life-long learners to tackle global problems around food, water, and health, and will play a key role in the future of educational offerings at a new state-of-the art campus.
The Education Virtual Programs Support Facilitator will support the CSU Spur vision and Education Team by executing the daily programmatic logistics and delivery necessary for successful educational experiences in Spur's Virtual Reality room and online virtual programs for pre-K-12 audiences, families, community partners, and general campus visitors. The individual in this role will support the technical needs for operating virtual reality and online virtual programs and support and mentor other staff, students, and volunteers working in virtual programs. This position is also responsible for delivering educational content in human and animal health as related to virtual offerings both in classroom program facilitation and exhibit interpretation, engaging with on site visitors, and collaborating with staff and volunteers to support the programmatic goals of the CSU Spur campus.
This role will have a variable schedule, which may include monthly Second Saturdays at Spur events, other weekends, and could include some evenings. The individual will be in this role for 9 months and is requested to work up to 29.5 hours a week.
This position is supervised by the CSU Spur Virtual Engagement Coordinator.
Program Areas of Interpretation:
This position will be focused on, but not limited to, Spur's Virtual Reality Experience which centers around human and animal health. This position will be responsible for assisting guests in the virtual reality classroom. In the Vida building, the education team interprets live veterinary procedures, equine-assisted services, and equine rehabilitation therapy in partnership with Humane Colorado, the Temple Grandin Equine Center, and CSU's Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation program, providing opportunities for visitors and school groups to learn about animal and human health through active observation and engagement.
There will be opportunity to support in Spur's other two buildings, which focus on the following content:
+ Food: In the Terra building, education staff will be working with partners on controlled agriculture, food systems education, urban gardening, nutrition education, and food development processes.
+ Water: In the Hydro building, educators will partner with Denver Water experts to provide experiences around water conservation, quality, and water systems. Collaborates with CASA Program Manager and leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive annual volunteer development plan that includes awareness and recruitment strategies.

Conducts CASA information sessions virtually and in person and provide information on volunteer or engagement opportunities across CLC.

JOB TITLE:
Non Tenure-Track Assistant Lecturer
JOB PURPOSE:
The Division of Kinesiology & Health at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a non-tenure track position in exercise science. We invite applications from candidates who are interested in teaching exercise science courses, advising undergraduate students, and willing to contribute to the service of our division, college, and university. We also envision the candidate taking on responsibilities of managing the various teaching labs in the division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching multiple courses in the kinesiology curriculum including, but not limited to:
Exercise physiology, advanced exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, applied/clinical exercise physiology, environmental physiology, muscle physiology, lifespan motor development, motor behavior, or other closely related courses
Contribute to service in the department, college, and university; which could include accreditation review responsibilities
Advise multiple undergraduate students in course selection and progression through majoring in kinesiology and health science
Supervise and manage operations of exercise science laboratories/spaces, including but not limited to equipment maintenance, vendor relations, equipment warranties/service contracts, inventory, protocol implementation, and laboratory support personnel supervision
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Earned master's degree by August 2026 in kinesiology/exercise science, exercise physiology, clinical exercise physiology, environmental physiology, sport performance, applied human performance, or closely related field
Commensurate with career stage, evidence of the following:
Experience teaching university-level kinesiology/exercise science courses
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Earned Ph.D. degree by August 2026 in kinesiology/exercise science, exercise physiology, clinical exercise physiology, environmental physiology, sport performance, applied human performance, or closely related field
Evidence of effective teaching in exercise physiology, sport/exercise psychology, lifespan motor development, physical activity intervention, exercise prescription, and/or fitness assessment at both undergraduate and graduate levels

About the Division of Kinesiology and Health:
The Division of Kinesiology and Health (DK&H) at the University of Wyoming (UW) is a key academic unit within the College of Health Sciences. The division has been home to approximately 18 faculty members, including both tenure and non-tenure track positions. These faculty members have a successful track record of securing research grants and contracts from a variety of prestigious organizations, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the U.S. Department of Education, among others.
DK&H offers two undergraduate majors leading to a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree: Kinesiology and Health Promotion, and Physical Education Teacher Education. For graduate students, the division provides a Master of Science (M.S.) degree with options for both thesis and non-thesis tracks. These graduate programs offer specialized emphasis in areas such as Exercise and Sports Science, Physical Education Teacher Education, and Health Promotion and Education. In addition to its own degree programs, DK&H actively participates in the university's interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. program, contributing to the training of doctoral students. The division has also established a graduate certificate program in community and public health to equip individuals with the skills needed for service in these critical fields.
DK&H provides significant opportunities through its focus on interdisciplinary research, global engagement, and program expansion. Students and faculty can engage in extensive interdisciplinary collaborations with departments like zoology & physiology, computer science, engineering, and theatre & dance, facilitated by UW-based programs such as Wyoming INBRE, COBRE, and NASA EPSCoR. The Division champions global learning through bilateral study-abroad programs in countries like China and Italy. Looking ahead, DK&H plans to launch its own Ph.D. program in Kinesiology in 2026. Research efforts are further bolstered by resources from the newly established School of Computing at UW and collaborative opportunities with institutions like the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah.
