Job Description:
Schedule and organize volunteer events such as monthly coffee club meetings

Work on various projects as directed, including but not limited to, website and outreach, etc.
Use and update electronic and paper filing systems for donor and volunteer databases.
Contribute to overall team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Volunteers may not be used in lieu of classified employees. The District may not refuse to employ a person in a vacant classified position and use volunteers instead, nor may it abolish any classified positions and use volunteers instead.
Volunteers are employees of the District only for the purpose of worker's compensation benefits for injuries sustained while engaged in the performance of any service under the direction and control of the district. With the exception of worker's compensation (Education Code Section 72401), volunteers shall serve without any type of compensation or any other benefits granted to district employees. Volunteers shall not be entitled to defense and indemnity from the district.

The District's Human Resources Office shall maintain the volunteer's service record.

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you help patients get well. You are the person who can bring their power back. In doing this, you will implement occupational therapy programs and activities, follow developed recovery plans, and deliver therapy treatments.
You're a healer and a helper, which is why you got into this line of work.
You're equally adept at addressing the whole patient and seeing them as an individual. You know your goal is to execute a program that will restore, reinforce, and enhance their physical abilities and independence.
You're adaptable to the needs of the patient and can find joy in the variety of the work and the settings.
You're a teammate and are looking for collaboration with your peers, but you're also happy to make referrals to help your patient get the care they need to thrive.
