The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working with LGBTQ+ youth, an understanding of unique challenges that LGBTQ+ youth face, and a passion for creating safe spaces for young people to explore their identities and build community. The program is rooted in community building, culturally responsive, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction models. Responsibilities May Include: Acts as a Wellness Center staff member and provides support during drop in, programming, and event hours in conjunction with schedules made by the Wellness Center Director. Ensures that the Wellness Center remains clean, organized, and presentable to participants to ensure a functional and orderly space. Plans and facilitates support groups and workshops for LGBTQ youth ages 11-26 virtually and in person on a variety of topics that include a range of activities and discussions that are engaging and relevant to youth participants. Plans, chaperones, and is available to attend events and field trips for LGBTQ youth ages 11-26 both inside of and outside of the Center. Understands that sometimes events and field trips happen on weekends, after Center closure, and on days outside of regular schedule.
