Post job

This question is about what a teacher does.

Are teachers happy?

By Zippia Team - Sep. 7, 2022

No, teachers are not happy. In a recent survey, just 12% of teachers said they were very satisfied with their job, and nearly half of teachers are dissatisfied with their job.

The unhappiness of teachers is rooted in different causes. It is a common refrain to hear that teachers aren't paid well relative to the jobs they have, and it is generally true.

Many teachers also work in difficult environments, such as public schools in impoverished areas. These can be severely underfunded and not have the resources of better public schools or are in even more stark contrast to private schools with a wealth of funding and resources.

Interestingly enough, even though private schools have so much more funding than public schools, they often pay teachers less than those that work in public schools.

In general, teachers make enough money to have a comfortable living but it does not make up for the arduous service they provide.
